It is also an inexpensive wine cooler but it looks classy. Unlike Magic Chef wine cooler, it is large in height and small in width, so renders an ideal refrigerator look. The storage capacity and the functionality are the same but the price is even lesser than that. Yes, Avanti 12 Bottle wine cooler is the cheapest on our list. Due to its elegant looks and an affordable rate, it has managed to win the hearts of users.

This wine fridge holds 12 bottles, and even though it’s bigger than other units that hold the same amount of wine, the Avanti EWC1201 is still compact enough to fit on a counter. It has a curved glass door that gives it a unique look, and the glass is tempered to keep UV rays out, which keeps the inside temperature consistent. The metal shelves hold standard-size wine bottles, and there’s a section where you can place bottles upright. This is good for both taller wine bottles and opened bottles.

Why you'll love it: If you rarely have more than a case of wine on hand, the Avanti 12 Bottle Thermoelectric Counter Top Wine Cooler is an affordable storage option. At 20 by 10 by 25 inches, the Avanti 12 Bottle Thermoelectric Counter Top Wine Cooler is the most compact wine fridge in our guide. This makes it ideal for countertops, though it won't fit under cabinets positioned at the standard 18 inches above the counter. The front of the fridge has a stylish curved glass door and an auto defrost system so you can easily see what bottles are chilling without opening the door. There is room for four bottles placed vertically. This is helpful because once you open a bottle, you may want to keep it chilled until your next glass and avoid redistributing any sediments.

The clean and modern design will look great in your space and with its easy to use temperature control buttons, the Avanti is an excellent, practical pick for a great price. Even though the Avanti EWC1201 is a rather small wine cooler, you really do not need space for any more bottles if you are not planning to start collecting. The Avanti fits 12 bottles of most sizes and will be enough to give you a taste of what a wine cooler can offer you and whether you would be willing to dive deeper into the world of wine collecting, storing and enjoying. Best built-in wine cooler for a small space.
- Jen Reviews
You can consider this a “starter” model because it holds just 12 bottles, or a “space-saver” model because it’s only 25 inches tall and theoretically can sit on a counter. Either way, it’s a good little unit. It also has one feature that’s unusual for a wine refrigerator: it allows you store as many as four open bottles vertically, which makes sense if it’s designed to go into a working kitchen and not a “wine cellar.” And you added correctly; eight bottles can be lain on their side in the Avanti.
- Groom and Style
The thermoelectric countertop wine cooler from Avanti is definitely one of the best products from the brand. The cooler dons a contemporary, compact design which makes it easier for you to mount it on your countertop. The design is incredibly sleek will definitely complement your interiors. On top of that, it also comes with a door made of curved glass which adds to its overall style.

Its size means it won’t take up too much space, so which means that you can still apply your kitchen just as previously, and also possess a high-value solution to making cooking just a little more enjoyable. It features both shelf storage along with status room, giving you versatile options and easy grabbing capabilities, and the curved glass door offers extra protection to the wine against the outside. Most of good use, though, may be the auto defrost feature, which is prove to be hugely beneficial for ensuring the cooler and your wine remains at the optimal temperatures all year-round. The compact Avanti 12 bottle counter top wine cooler is a black cabinet with a curved glass door. Using a thermoelectric cooling system, it is vibration free. This is designed to fit standard sized 750 ml bottles, although you can remove the top shelf to fit larger bottles on the second shelf. It also has a convenient upright bottle storage slot for when you have opened a bottle.
- Food Shark Marfa
This superb looking small wine fridge not only looks very modern and stylish but it is also really flexible to use too. Not many wine fridges have such an innovative design allowing for bottles of open wine to be stored upright. But this model does exactly that. You can store 8 bottles of wine laying flat and then 4 can be stood upright. This is really handy as once corks are removed, it can be tricky to keep wine cooled in some wine fridges.
- Small Wine Fridges
The Avanti EWC1201 is a 12 bottle capacity wine cellar with digital display and touch control system. It is a free standing wine cellar with a curved glass door. The refrigerator has a sleek design with thermoelectric cooling system, allowing you to set temperature within its 47-64 degrees Fahrenheit temperature range. This model is designed for accommodating 750 ml bottles. The bottom three racks are fixed into one unit, making it a hassle to adjust bigger sized bottles in there. One of the key features is its vibration free technology, that keeps the sediments undisturbed, ultimately retaining the wine quality for a long period and giving your kitchen or lounge a contemporary look.
- Le Madeleine
The Avanti 12 Bottle Thermoelectric Counter Top Wine Cooler is one slick looking wine fridge. At first glance it looks like a high end wine fridge but is in fact one of the cheapest units in the market. Despite having a comprehensive temperature display and control, this freestanding wine fridge is very easy to use. The soft-touch controls are very sensitive and hardly stick. The readings are easy to see and are written in simple language to enable even the most tech ignorant of us to use this device. The space for upright bottles comes as a relief for those who love to leave their unfinished wine open. Now you don’t have to push your open wine bottles into your crammed fridge. Additionally, you can store larger than standard wine bottle is this space.

If you’re someone who is just starting out with collecting wine, or you’re like me and just enjoy a glass or three at the weekends and want to keep your wine in tip-top condition, the Avanti 12 bottle wine cooler is the perfect solution. It won’t help turn you into a wine connoisseur overnight, but it will keep your drinks at an acceptable temperature even when the bottles are open.
- Cooling Wine

This unit is a no-nonsense wine cooler. If you need wine chilled, no fancy buttons and features, then this is the cooler for you. The Avanti cooler features a unique option for wine storage — vertical/upright storage for open bottles. Up to four bottles can be placed upright on the left side of the unit, while eight bottles can be stored on their sides on racks. The Avanti is a thermoelectric model, requiring 5 inches of space around it for ventilation. Upright storage is one of the things that owners love most about the Avanti, with some selecting this cooler solely because of that option. An interesting observation about the reviews: some owners seem to be repeatedly calling out those with negative reviews as more likely a cause of user error than actual problems with the model. More than one person mentioned tips to get the most from your chiller; some even posted them in their reviews. The majority of reviewers were pleased with their unit.

Avanti EWC1201 does not incorporate noise free technology, which might be a nuisance. Secondly, since it is a single zoned cooler, you would be only able to keep all sorts of wine at a single temperature.
- Small Wine Fridges
The fact that it is a single zone cooler means that you may not be able to chill your red and white wines to your optimum preference at the same time. This is however an expected compromise given the really low price it goes for. By keeping the fridge at 56F, you can have both your whites and reds covered. The LED light in this freestanding wine fridge provides for a very cool display of your collection, but it automatically turns off after 10 minutes. This is a slight bother however and you can get it back on by pressing both temperature control switches for three seconds and then pushing the light switch.
- Home Wine Fridge Reviews
Does not hold bottles with big base or bottom, as the upright stand is not very adjustable to different wine bottle sizes. The control panel needs to be unlocked every time you turn on and off the light. Temperature light inside the cooler may be too bright.

We wish it had the ability to go a little cooler than 54 degrees as we realize some people like to drink their white wines a little colder than that. All though it is quiet it is not completely noise free. It does put out a very low running noise when the compressor kicks in, similar to that of your normal household refrigerator. It will not hold oversized wine bottles.

Not everything in life is perfect and there was one little niggle I had with this cooler: The fan can cause quite a bit of noise (a bit like a fridge), so based on my experience I wouldn’t keep it anywhere that noise can be an issue. Just for reference, the noise levels were fine for me in the kitchen and the fan isn’t on all the time. I don’t think it would have changed my buying decidion if I knew this beforehand, I am still very happy with my buy.
- Cooling Wine
It is a single zone cooler, hence you can set just one temperature at a time. It can hold only 12 bottles. Its fan can cause some noise at times.

Doesn’t fit non-American bottles well due to different bottle tapering. Unlock requires for on/off light. Doesn’t fit larger than normal bottles.

Some problems were clearly user issues — including not realizing that its size made the Avanti a poor choice for many countertops. There are benefits to the Avanti, including the upright storage option and the ability to lock the temperature, making it necessary to reset only when the power goes out. The features that it offers may outweigh the risks, but that is a decision between you and your bank account..

An Overview On Wine Coolers

If you love wine, you need somewhere to put it — but not everyone has the room, the budget or the need for a true wine cellar. Enter the wine cooler.

“Wine coolers can also provide that perfect temperature for storing and aging wines at a fraction of the cost of building a wine cellar in your home,” says our resident culinary expert Julie Chernoff, a member of Les Dames d’Escoffier, dining editor for Better magazine and food journalist.

Wine coolers can be conveniently located wherever they are needed, but it can be difficult to choose one. They come in a wide price range and with many potential bells and whistles. So, as you’re shopping for one of these useful refrigerators, consider what basic capacity and bottom-line utility you need your wine cooler to have. Also, where will you put it and what size or look fits with your decor? Some common considerations include temperature range and stability, humidity level and the amount of noise the unit makes.

“There are myriad capacities to suit your particular needs, from countertop versions to under-the-counter wine fridges,” Chernoff explains. “The most useful wine coolers provide the ability to adjust temperature and humidity, have adjustable racks to accommodate thicker champagne bottles, dual-zone control to accommodate both red and white wines, and run quietly and efficiently.”

The next step is to look at what extra features you desire. Some coolers come with alarms, LED lighting and particular rack materials to enhance your wine experience.

“A tempered glass-front door provides a way to see what’s in stock without constantly opening and closing the door and letting the cold air out,” Chernoff advises. “It also ensures that you won’t forget the bottles in the back of your pantry.”

If you’re serious about your wine, a wine cooler can upgrade your storage immensely and provide the right climate for your favorite vintages.

DYWM Fun Fact

The ideal storage temperature for both red and white wines is about 55 degrees Fahrenheit, according to Wine Spectator. This helps keep both from aging prematurely. However, optimal serving temperatures differ between types of wines. Red wines are best served at 55-65 degrees Fahrenheit. On the other hand, white wines are better at a slightly colder temperature of 49-55 degrees Fahrenheit.

Though every kind of wine has an optimal temperature, it’s fine for wine to fluctuate a few degrees here and there. One thing you should avoid, however, is having your wine undergo any sudden drastic increases or drops in temperature.  Extreme and frequent temperature swings can alter the flavor of the wine. It can also cause the liquid inside the bottle to expand, leading to wine to seep out or the cork to pop open. If you live in a house or environment that sees rapid shifts in temperature, a wine cooler can serve as a handy tool to help you stabilize the temperature and keep your wine bottles at a more favorable degree.

The Wine Cooler Buying Guide

  • Decide where your wine cooler will live. Before picking a spot, consider where there’s enough space within your home to keep it and how convenient you need your wines to be. Size may be a limiting factor, so keep that in mind. Should you get something that is free-standing or one that fits on your counter?
  • You may wish to purchase a wine cooler that fits your decor. Check out your options when it comes to appearance.
  • Consider the cooling method. Wine coolers can run on a compressor just like a refrigerator, but some smaller ones are thermoelectric. Thermoelectric units are quiet and efficient, but need extra clearance space and may not work as well if the air around them is warm. Compressors are heavier and a bit louder, but may last longer.
  • How much capacity do you need? Do you like to regularly keep several options on hand?  Will you be storing bulkier items, like champagne bottles? If any of these factors apply to you, you may need a cooler with adjustable racks.
  • Temperature regulation is one of the most important factors to consider when buying a wine cooler. Find a unit that has an adjustable thermometer, and consider dual zones if you’ll be putting both white and red wines in your cooler.
  • Budget is also important. Many wine coolers have nice features, so decide what extras you can live without if you want something on the lower end of the price range.
