Do Not Sell My Personal Information

Do Not Sell My Personal Information and the California Consumer Privacy Act

The purpose of this page is to explain:

  • Scripps will never sell personal information in the common sense of the word.
  • Why Scripps’ websites and apps contain the “Do Not Sell” link.
  • Your choices and what will happen if you tell Scripps not to “sell” your information.
  • Scripps does not sell your data.

Scripps does not sell any data that we collect. In fact, we only share personal data for legitimate purposes as described in our Privacy Policy.

Why Scripps’ websites and apps contain the “Do Not Sell” link

Scripps websites and apps include the “Do Not Sell” link to comply with the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). The CCPA’s broad definitions of “sale” and “personal information” may be interpreted to mean that the common flow of information in the digital analytics and advertising ecosystem should be considered a sale. As described in our Privacy Policy, we use and enable third parties to use and place technology such as device identifiers, tags, cookies, beacons, and similar tracking mechanisms on our websites and apps and on third-party websites and apps to enable advertising tailored to your preferences.

The “Do Not Sell” link is on our websites and apps to inform you of your right to opt out of this kind of advertising and to provide you a convenient way to exercise your right. Although the CCPA only applies to California consumers, we allow non-California residents the same choices about their personal information.

Should you wish to disable customized advertisement, please make your choice via our Technology Settings by clicking the button below. Please note this will not prevent all advertising. Please visit our Privacy Policy for more information about tracking technology and steps you can take to opt out.
