If earning more money this year was one of your New Year’s resolutions, then you might be in luck. Allegis Transcription, a company which offers transcription services to insurance companies and other businesses, is seeking skilled transcribers to join its team. And, here’s the best part, these positions allow you to work remotely from anywhere in the country. You could do your job right in the comfort of your own home!

Allegis Transcription is looking for individuals who can listen to audio files from its clients, and then transcribe those into written documents. They are hiring people for entry-level positions (meaning that it’s OK if you have no experience in this field) as well as people who are already skilled transcribers.

Although the company is open to hiring employees with no experience in transcription, accuracy is still going to be an absolute must, so Allegis will need people who are detail oriented and who can type at least 75 words per minute.

Other requirements include impeccable spelling and grammar, as well as a transcription pedal. These pedals (also called WAV pedals) allow you to control dictation playback with the touch of your foot. You can rewind, fast-forward, pause, play and more. These devices cost anywhere from $50 to $100, and you can find them on Amazon.

If jumping into something like this with no experience sounds a tad overwhelming, don’t worry. The company will train you for the position. You need to make sure you are available for these training sessions, which will last around two to three hours per day for two to three weeks. The options for training sessions occur from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Pacific, so you can work with the company’s team leader to find a slot that is best for your schedule.

If you are applying for the experienced transcriber position, be advised that Allegis is looking for candidates who have experience with strict verbatim transcription, as well as experience with insurance and/or legal transcription. You also must have the ability to produce an average of 100 or more transcript pages within eight to 10 hours.

To apply for these positions, as well as other open positions with Allegis, visit its website.
