Expert Reviews

What reviewers liked

Kayak moves quickly and steadily through the water even in rough conditions. Offers both front and rear storage hatches.
There is a large storage hatch at the bow with a Click Seal lock, where you can store gear that needs to be kept dry, as it has a handy watertight seal.
The storage space that is provided for the Prowler is more than enough for all tackle, tools, and necessities needed for a long day out on the water.
A big feature is it has its own area for a fish finder, really easy to install you can stick the base that comes with your fish finder perfectly within the little cubby you can run the wire through the kayak and put some silicon in without trouble.
Once advanced feature of this boat is the capability to mount a transducer, or fish finder. This is a capability we haven’t seen in the other boats we’ve reviewed and it may be a critical buying factor for some!
A large tankwell in the stern allows for the stowing of bulky gear that isn't vulnerable to water damage, while valuables can be sealed in the bow mounted waterproof hatch.
With a large front hatch with easy to access internal storage as well as a rear bungee storage system, you are free to bring all your gear with you.
The versatility of this model is one of its main selling points. It can be used in rivers, on lakes, or even on the sea in the right conditions.

What reviewers didn't like

Will take in some water if used near weight limit. Not suitable for long distance paddling.
Seat not great on long trips.
The seat is standard and is very comfortable, but once that 8th hour comes around, it can start to get a little bit uncomfortable.
The seat comes standard with it it’s not the most comfortable seat in the world but it is a seat that’s useful if you want to go out for 6-7 hours at a time you might want to get a pad or you might have some trouble.
The only knock on the kayak is the lack of moveable rod holders, although you could add an aftermarket one if you really wanted one.
Unfortunately, there are no gear rails or the option to add additional rod holders.
While sitting, it might be hard to tip, but some have found that standing on it isn’t always easy because of this crossover hull design.
