7. Eat On “National” Days

You’ve heard of them—National Pancake Day, National Deep Dish Pizza Day, etc. There are a million and one (OK, not quite) of these “national” food days, and plenty of restaurants offer discounted appetizers, desserts or entrees based around them. Keep an eye on social media, and you can score big discounts.

Keep an eye on the Restaurant Weeks in your area, too when many restaurants offer meals for less.

8. Use Social Media

Follow your favorite places on social media! They often post small, limited-time promotions you wouldn’t otherwise hear about. Maybe it’s a week of half-priced dinners or a day when a large iced coffee is only 10 cents—either way, it pays to be connected.

9. Get A Rewards Card

A punch card where you get your 10th sandwich free, an app where you can rack up points to save money on a later order—these are all ways to save money when you dine out. Ask your server or the person at checkout if there are any programs that fit the bill (ha!) and see how much you can save.

10. Drink Water

Yes, we know it seems like a no-brainer, but soft drinks can average about $2.00 a glass. With a family of four, that’s $8.00 per meal. Glasses of wine average $8-9.00 a glass, and depending on the type of beer, you could be paying $4-10.00 per pint.
