From The Manufacturer

Zojirushi began in Japan in 1918 as a manufacturer of hand-blown vacuum bottles. They are still known today for their high quality vacuum insulated products. This stainless steel food jar is vacuum insulated so it keeps foods (or beverages) hot or cold for hours. Durable and sanitary 18/8 stainless steel construction will not rust, tarnish or stain, and will not leak harmful chemicals. The interior is polished stainless steel with a nonstick coating and is neutral to taste and smell. Tight -fitted lid has a gasket that seals lid to minimize leaks and maximize heat retention. It has a unique lid designed with a vent that allows users to release the pressure inside to make the lid easier to open when the food jar contains hot foods or beverages. A wide opening of 2 and one half inches makes it easy to fill and clean and allows user to eat directly out of the jar. Great for holding hot meals, soups, oatmeal, cold desserts and much more.

What reviewers liked

Zojirushi says that its thermos will keep foods at a safe temperature for about 6 hours, and we were glad to see that for liquids, the thermos exceeded the estimate.
Wide lid makes opening much easier. Holds approximately two cups of food. Durable and stylish stainless steel construction.
There are dimples to grasp onto and a vent that releases the pressure inside to make the lid easier to open. This helps avoid those times where you might struggle to unscrew the top and end up spilling hot soup in your lap.
A tight-fitting lid and gasket ensure that your lunch pail will remain dry no matter how bumpy your commute.
They’ve designed the lid with dimples to make it easy to open, and the mouth of the vacuum flask is wide, making it easy to eat your soup out of the thermos with a spoon.
After preheating, this food jar is also capable of cooking light foods like soups and porridge!
Its insulation lid is crafted in such a way that it addresses pressure from hot food and allows easy closing and opening of the jar.
Most of this utensil is made out of stainless steel, but there are some plastic parts, as well. Those parts are all BPA-free, so you needn’t really worry about the potential harmful implications of this chemical.
The compact design is able to hold a decent amount of your dinner, while the ergonomic lid uses dimples along the rim in order to make it easier to create a tough seal that isn’t impossible to open, after.
Made with durable 18/8 stainless steel, the container will not rush, tarnish or stain.
The Zojirushi food jar’s wide-neck design lets you ladle hot soup, chili or pasta into the container without making a mess, and it’s equally easy to spoon out the food without contorting your hand in awkward positions.
The gasket valves and tight-fitted lid make the jar free of leakage and spilling.
Soup-worthy specs: a stainless steal body, double-walled insulation (for heat retention), a wide gap on the inside of the sealed lid (for easy cleaning), and three different sizes (all the way up to 25 ounces)

It's not dishwasher-safe, but neither are most thermoses.
The Lid tends to get very tight sometimes, preventing older people and kids from opening the container by themselves
