An absolute powerhouse,thanks to it's cast iron housing and 1/3 HP motor. Garners praise for removing large amounts of water quickly and efficient.
With a good discharge size, automatic functioning and a overheating switch, neither excess water nor heating and waste in the pit can prevent this product from its capability of working for lengthy periods of time.
Activates automatically when the water level reached 7-inches and automatically cuts out when water is down to 3-inches.
Runs very quietly, therefore you are free from hammering noises.
One of the benefits offered by the Zoeller M53 compared to other units on the same line is that it’s practically impossible for it to ever become clogged. The vortex impeller design it comes with prevents such issues, and as previously mentioned above, the pump is more than capable of passing ½-inch solids.
The pump is housed in a cast iron casing and has a non-clogging design. The cast iron housing provides a solid base for the pump to work. The screws and fastenings are stainless steel so there are no materials that will rust or corrode.
What reviewers didn't like
Issues with the float switch malfunctioning have been reported. Customers occasionally get faulty pumps. Somewhat noisy.
On impact, the shaft connecting float to switch is liable to dislocation.
The switch has been known to get stuck in the ON position which could cause the motor to burn out eventually.
As it is a submersible pump they are difficult to clean.
Some reviews have mentioned that the Zoeller model requires you to drill a small hole in the discharge pipe at the level with the top of the pump.
