Expert Reviews

What experts liked

Carbonates any drink – your options are limited only by your imagination
The control panel allows you to select the level of carbonation that you prefer. This is one of the key features of the Sparkel carbonation system in that it allows different family members to customize their soft drinks according to their tastes.
The Spärkel sparkling-water maker is the best option for those who don’t want to deal with the fuss of returning, rebuying, or refilling CO2 tanks.
Sparkel offers five different carbonation levels. The base level will infuse drinks with refreshing, light bulbs in roughly 90 seconds, while the highest level will heavily carbonate drinks within just a few minutes.
the Spärkel doesn’t require a CO2 cartridge, instead using a small single-use “sachet” that includes a combination of citric acid and sodium bicarbonate that combines with water to create CO2. The CO2 is cycled through the water chamber to infuse flavors and carbonate.

What experts didn't like

Expensive bottles and carbonator packets. Only carbonates 750ml at a time
I only used this machine between one and three times a week for the past 35 days or so, but it only worked great for about two weeks and only one or two times each week.
You can buy a 90-pack of carbonators for around $50. That equates to around $0.73 per liter, which is more than twice as expensive as a SodaStream.
If there’s a downside to using a Spärkel compared to a standard system with a CO2 cartridge, it’s that the users has to pour in the fizz-making chemicals into the system with each use.
