The laser guide, a selling point for this saw, isn’t much more than a shiny gimmick. The blade has difficulty staying on course, and you’ll be better off using your eyes to guide it. This means more work for the user, and more likelihood of imprecise, clumsy cuts.
Lighter blades might not provide you with perfectly vertical cuts and the laser guide isn’t perfect, either, but for DIY jobs and small projects around the house.
No protection against overheating.
The price is higher. We would add that it is almost 70% more expensive than all aforementioned models.
It doesn’t hold the dust blower.
The laser is not very accurate.
After vigorous use, the jigsaw may demonstrate signs of wear and tear. However, it happens after 7 – 8 months.
The SKIL 4495-02 does have some limitations and for the most part, these are focussed on portability. The SKIL 4495-02 is a corded tool, which means you need to work near a power outlet and which means you need to consider your cable management as you position yourself around the work surface. Not a huge issue for a lot of people but definitely one thing to consider.
The warranty of this powerful motor jigsaw is very low than the other.
