The plant-based and nutrition-focused meal delivery service is one that can really revamp the way you eat breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks. The meals each come in a take-out style container, with a sticker indicating when I should eat the meal right down to the time and day of the week.
A vegan supplier that offers a different menu every week with plant-based, superfood-heavy meals like seasonal salads, sandwiches, and protein bagels with cashew-cheese spread. There are even daily detox teas to support digestion. It’s all quite pretty (not to mention gluten-, dairy-, egg-, and seafood-free), so plate it beautifully with some good lighting.
My week’s worth of unprocessed meals included things like salads, parfaits, and soups, all of them vegan, and all of them packaged in recyclable plastic containers designed to prevent the contents from perishing. I loved the food,.

These meals are designed to bring you out of any unhealthy dining rut. The menus are diverse, offering “superfood” ingredients like jackfruit and “pink probiotic dressing” to satisfy your tastebuds. What I found particularly interesting was that some of the meals came with informational cards on a particular ingredient in the meal. I learned that jackfruit is packed with immune-boosting vitamins A and C, while hearts of palm are a solid source of dietary fiber.
Over the course of five days, I consumed everything from things called "Balance Bowls" to a cobb salad made with coconut bacon. Yes, coconut bacon. I even tried Beauty Chocolates that tasted more like a treat than health food, while also indulging in Detox Bars (made with blue spirulina) that tasted of dark chocolate niblets. It felt like there was a personal chef in my small-apartment kitchen, whipping me up healthy, bright, and beautiful recipes while doling out glowing compliments.
I was impressed with how well each meal was carefully packaged and the fact that they stayed fresh, even past the timeframe in which I was supposed to eat them. Because—as a friend who works in food service pointed out—it’s hard to keep fresh veggies fresh, especially when you’re shipping them fully prepared and holding them for a couple days after they arrive. So, kudos, Sakara Life!
Over the next few days, it’s safe to say that I consumed more vegetables than I ever have in my life—and I could feel my body thanking me for it! Every part of the meals, down to the dressings, used high-quality, fresh, and good-for-you ingredients. I didn’t feel sluggish throughout the day (like I sometimes do when I know I’m not making the best food choices).

The subscription portal on the website is SO easy to use. You can manage your calendar easily to change the number of meals and days you receive or skip weeks altogether. Their customer service is also A+.
I loved everything on the menu! I feel like it was different than the things I usually make and was a great nudge to get more veggies and salads during the day.

What reviewers didn't like

Sacrifices some flavor for health.
If you can't deal with bitter veggies or tart fruits, it may not be the service for you.

Other meals felt less filling. The salads and bowls in my delivery contained a lot of greens ― we’re talking about two full cups. The Abundance Bowl , for instance, was mainly a big bed of mixed lettuces with a few toppings sprinkled throughout. Though I appreciated the focus on fresh veggies, I ended up adding extras from another meal to give the bowl some more substance. Allergy modifications (such as nuts, seeds, legumes, grains, nightshades) will cost you an extra $60 a box — a hefty price for a company whose clientele is focused on healthy eating.
This meal-delivery service is not that affordable. One single day of meals is about $110 (aka more than I would spend for a week of groceries at Trader Joe's).
Unfortunately, though, it just wasn’t enough food for me: I was always hungry well before my next meal. So much so, in fact, that after day one on the “diet,” I couldn’t maintain their soft recommendation to stick to just eating their meals.
While some of the meals were very tasty, others weren’t—and to be honest, I didn’t feel satiated from only sticking to the foods available in the plan. My five-day kit included one protein bar, which was delicious, but I ate it on the very first day. And since my kit only came with one, I really wished they had included more to hold me over in between meals.

I was very hungry the first two days. If you are accustomed to eating a high protein diet, it might also be an adjustment as Sakara is much more grain and carbohydrate-heavy (as many plant-based diets are!).
The “detox” and “beauty chocolate” type verbiage. These health buzzwords feel a little cringe-y sometimes (like this protein bar is helping me detox? Really??), but I get that it’s part of their brand. It didn’t bother me too much but I could see how some might be turned off by some of the product names.
