From The Manufacturer

The 3″X7″ Power Planter is the ideal choice for the homeowner looking to plant more in less time. This auger is perfect for planting bulbs, bedding plants, garden vegetables, and 3″ potted plants. The 3″X7″ Power Planter will take all of the guess work out of planting bulbs. Simply drill as far as the auger will go and lift the auger out of the hole. This will leave a hole approximately 5″ deep with 1″ of loose soil in the bottom of the hole allowing for maximum root contact. The remaining soil will be on the edge of the hole, simply push it back in and move to the next hole. Fits any 3/8″ drill or larger. For cordless drills a 14V drill minimum is recommended.
