Expert Reviews
What reviewers liked
Gives you a mid-priced option (below $250) but still have a long 7 year warranty. Still comes with a strong 1,400 motor. The shorter jar means you don’t need a lot of room to store this. Metal drive will last longer. Cover has an opening that will allow you to add ingredients without taking off the whole cover
This is one of the quieter options among high-power blenders.
After researching dozens of blenders, talking with five experts, and testing 20 models over the course of four years, we're confident that the Oster Versa Performance Blender with Low Profile Jar offers the best value for most people. At roughly $200, it performs as well as blenders that cost twice as much, and it blows cheaper blenders out of the water. With both variable speed and presets for things like soup and smoothies, it has one of the most user-friendly and versatile control panels we've seen.
This Oster Versa model offers the best balance between performance and price that we’ve found. It’s not as powerful or durable as the Vitamix 5200, but it holds its own against many blenders twice the price.
What reviewers didn't like
Unlike the Vitamix, this machine will not be able to mix dough. Not made in the USA (if you’re that finicky). When you push the tamper all the way it will hit the blade so you have to be careful. Hard to read markings
There were some bigger chunks left in our smoothies during testing.
We don’t think this Oster is the absolute best blender out there. It doesn’t compare to Vitamix blenders in terms of power and longevity (we burned our Oster out after two and a half years)
