What experts liked
It has a chunky hand grip that protrudes quite far from the body and makes it feel pretty secure in the hand. It is also textured which helps to add to an air of quality about the camera.

The Nikon COOLPIX B500 is a very attractive proposition for novice photographers moving up from a phone or small compact and looking for a long zoom range in an SLR style body without the expense and complexity of a camera with interchangeable lenses
- Tech Spot
Those of us who don’t have regular access to a computer, are on the go, or just find it daunting to fuss around with wires will be happy with the connectivity (and freedom) this camera provides.Instead of waiting until you have access to a laptop or something to transfer your photos to, you can share your professionally shot photos quicker and easier.

What experts didn't like
When the light drops, it takes a little longer for focus to be acquired, but it generally gets there in the end. Normal operational speeds are reasonable for everyday usage, but when you’re using something like Short Movie Show you may get frustrated with how long it takes the Nikon Coolpix B500 to process each clip.

Glitchy SnapBridge implementation and extra expense for rechargeable batteries. Lacks manual exposure control, Poor low ISO noise performance.
- Tech Spot
The lens is fixed and not removable or replaceable with other lenses. A couple functions may leave something to be desired for more experienced photographers, and the quality is good but not great for professionals.
