Overall Take

The Munchkin Miracle 360 Sippy Cup is designed to overcome the problems often seen with sippy cups. A seal in the middle allows liquids through, sealing up as soon as the child stops drinking. But the top of the cup is designed like a regular cup, helping to ease a child's transition from bottle to a drinking cup.

In our analysis of 28 expert reviews, the Munchkin Miracle 360 Sippy Cup placed 1st when we looked at the top 5 products in the category. For the full ranking, see below.

From The Manufacturer

Let's face it: toddlers are a messy bunch, especially when first navigating Sippy cups. Now imagine a world in which drinks didn't spill at all - not in your diaper bag, not on your furniture, and not even onto your eager-to-learn child. No, it's not a miracle, exactly - it's munchkin's miracle 360˚ cup. The first Sippy cup invented with both parents and kids in mind, the miracle 360˚ Sippy cup eliminates messes and supports kids' dental health all at once. Drinking from anywhere around the rim, like a regular cup, helps support normal muscle development in a child's mouth. And with no extra spouts, straws or pieces, the miracle 360˚ cup is easy to use and even easier to clean. We'll say cheers to that.

While the child is drinking the cup opens to allow juice or milk to be consumed, but once he or she stops drinking the opening seals automatically ensuring that there are no spills at all.

This cup is the easiest and the most highly-rated of the 360s. This is the best choice if you’re going straight from the breast/bottle to a 360 rimmed cup.

Made from a BPA Free material, the Miracle 360 has a spoutless design that is dentist-recommended with its 360 degree drinking edge not only eliminates spills but also helps to support your little one’s natural muscle development in their mouth with its design akin to a normal cup.

Most parents liked the Munchkin Miracle 360 Trainer Cup—and they liked it a lot. Fans rated its ease of use, quality and value as very good, and said it was neither too big nor too small for their child, but some parents said it was too heavy for their little ones.

Children drink out of it like a normal cup, but it has this magic lid that requires sucking to get liquid and it really doesn’t leak. You can throw it in the dishwasher, throw it on the ground, drop it from the second story (seriously… my 2-year-old has tested this) and it won’t leak.

This cup has a leak-proof seal in the center of the concave lid, to allow your little one to tip the cup upside down without a drip escaping. The lid will automatically seal when your child stops drinking.

This cup from Munchkin has no complicated valves or seals and all parts are top-rack dishwasher safe. The top of the cup has a unique design that automatically seals when your child stops drinking. This feature helps prevent spills but still allows your child to drink freely.

A couple of things to watch for: when thrown on the ground, this cup does leak. If your kid is known to chew silicone, you’ll have to toss this cup once the seal has been damaged from chewing.

This is a more difficult cup to teach a child, especially a very young child, how to use and may make the transition more difficult for some. The plastic of this cup is strong, and has been known to leave behind an odd taste in some cases. There are more crevices and cracks for mold and bacteria to grow that are hard to clean, even in a dishwasher.

These cups cost a little more than some others do. You can’t tell how much liquid is still in the cup without taking the lid off.

An Overview On Leakproof Cups

Sippy cups get a lot of activity. In the blink of an eye, they’ll end up overturned on the tray of a high chair, upside-down on the floor of your car or even tossed out a window. With the wrong sippy cup, even one of those events can become a nuisance. At the very least, you’ll have a mess to clean up. In some cases, you’ll find the cup itself cracks, requiring you to replace it.

A leakproof cup can make life with a toddler much less stressful. No matter how much your little one shakes or tosses the cup, leakproof designs keep the liquid securely inside. The right type of cup opens easily when your child wants a drink, then automatically seals shut again once the sipping ends.

That seal is only part of a great leakproof cup, though. For toddlers, it’s important to ensure you choose a cup with a dentist-approved design. This will prevent the issues dentists often see with certain sippy cups, which can hinder the development of the oral cavity. Just as a nipple is pliable, molding to the shape the baby needs once inside the mouth, a sippy cup should be designed in a way that encourages proper mouth positioning while drinking.

Parents probably also want to consider how easy it is to clean the leakproof cup they choose. Some cups can be easily taken apart and cleaned, while others aren’t. The problem with that is that without a thorough cleaning, it can be easy for the constant moisture to build bacteria in those hidden areas. If you prefer a cup you can disassemble and put into the dishwasher, you should narrow your search to cups with that feature.

Instead of investing in a special sippy cup, you may prefer to buy lids that can fit on a variety of cups. That frees you up to purchase cups separately or, even better, use the stockpile of sippy cups you already have on hand. Since these lids come in multipacks, you’ll always have at least one or two clean lids that you can use while the others are in the dishwasher.

The Leakproof Cup Buying Guide

  • If you’re looking for a versatile sippy cup with a dental-approved design, the Munchkin Miracle 360 Sippy Cup is the best choice. The lid is designed similarly to a regular cup, with a small slot that lets liquid out. While drinking, the seal remains open but as soon as the child stops, the opening seals back up automatically. The cup is built in a way that responds to a child’s sucking motions. The plastic design creates durability for the entire cup, so it’s likely to survive plenty of tosses and drops.
  • Instead of buying an entire cup, you can get the same leakproof feature by simply buying lids that work with standard children’s cups. Healthy Sprouts Silicone Sippy Lids work with most 2.5 to 3.75-inch cups and comes in a pack of five. You can easily interchange the lids with cups you already own, giving you extras to use while you toss the last one or two used into the dishwasher. If you don’t have cups that fit, you can buy Munchkin’s Multi Cups in a set of five, and the top measures approximately 3 inches across in diameter.
  • The Munchkin Click Lock Cup With Weighted Straw Cup has a straw design, making it better suited for water than thicker liquids. The weighted straw is flexible enough to go easy on the gums while sipping. The Contigo Spill-Proof Kids Tumbler also has a straw-based design that provides leak protection.
  • Dentists often recommend parents stay away from standard sippy cups. The Munchkin Miracle 360 Sippy Cup is dentist approved, though, thanks to a spoutless design that provides a 360-degree drinking edge. This allows for healthy oral development while also making it comfortable for kids to drink.
  • One major benefit of a straw-based sippy cup is that it helps acclimate toddlers to drinking out of a straw. The Contigo Spill-Proof Kids Tumbler and Munchkin Click Lock Cup With Weighted Straw Cup are great for helping transition to regular cups with straws.
