Without a doubt, the best part about the Weider 2980 X Home Gym is that it allows you to get a full body workout. Now, this item is not meant for cardio, but it will strengthen virtually every single muscle in your body.
The machine’s pulleys are made of heavy-duty nylon material, and integrate sealed, industrial quality ball bearings. Thus it will take a long time until they wear out.
It provides a great full body workout at an inexpensive price and is sturdy and well- designed.
For what it’s worth, I think that it’s a great deal when it comes to shopping for gym equipment on a budget.
The Weider 2980 x Weight System is relatively cheap and will let you get a good workout with a range of upper and lower body exercises. It’s compact and looks quite good.

However,some buyers complain about it being cheap and limited. A frequent complaint is that it is hard to put it together alone.
However, some report difficult assembly and other point out that the machine's minimum amount of resistance is 58 pounds, which could pose a problem for users who need lower resistance.
The Weider 2980 X Home Gym only comes with 80 pounds of included weights in the stack. While this may be ideal for light weight training, it will not do for heavy or even moderate strength training purposes.
One of the downsides regarding this machine is that the weight plate set cannot be upgraded. The only weight plates available for this machine feature the same 12.5 lbs weight as the one supplied with it, and the stack can only have 6 of them.
The 300 lb weight capacity can make it less sturdy for people closer to the higher end of 300 lbs.
This machine doesn’t have all the bells and whistles of more expensive versions and you will need to assemble it yourself.
Now, the resistance weight cannot be upgraded because the system only has room for 6 plates of 12.5 pounds weight. There is no higher weight plate available than the one that is supplied with the home gym system. Therefore, you can only replace any bad weight plate but cannot upgrade.
