What experts liked

The bag itself is big, and everything about it feels high quality and thick. The fabric is actually water resistant, and we tested it out by placing it into a shallow puddle and making sure the clothes we put inside were kept dry.
- Mommy Hood 101
It’s a slim, tall tote shape that stands fairly well on its own. Maman gives you places to keep stuff from sinking to the bottom of the bag, but it’s not an overwhelming number of pockets to lose your keys in.
- Your Best Digs
Thanks to the universal straps, you can easily carry this bag around with you as you go about your daily business, either over your shoulder or on your stroller, giving you the maximum level of organization, ensuring your day goes by with minimal stress.
- Best For The Kids
Designed to look like a handbag, this bag has two exterior front pockets which are great for keys and phones, as well as two side insulated bottle pockets for easy access. The bag opens wide for full access to the interior. There are a variety of pockets inside and the stroller straps are built in so you can’t misplace them or lose them within the bag.
- Rookie Moms
This bag is affordable yet attractive. It has many of the same features designer bags boast, yet it's less than half the price of most high-end bags we've researched.
- faveable
It has ten pockets including a small zipper pocket for valuables and big pockets for diapers and bottles. It also has two insulated side pockets.
- Womens Edge
With ten different pockets situated around the large interior you’ll be able to organize the heck out of this bag. Never lose anything again, since you’ve got enough spaces to plunge pretty much everything you want exactly where you want.It even includes a changing pad for times when you need to refresh your child’s diaper.
- Homethods
The bag has plenty of space to store and organize, with 10 different pockets and compartments (including the bottle holders) to square everything away. The bag has several ways you can carry it as well, with hand straps, shoulder straps and stroller straps.
- Much Needed
You get a secure internally placed pocket to keep your valuables. It also has a back pocket for placing the changing pad.
- The Z9
With a wide variety of pockets and pouches, you'll be able to fit a lot in this option. It features a large main compartment with a zippered closure. Along the sides of the main compartment are three smaller pockets where you can stash things and stay organized.
- Official Top 5 Review
It looks more like a designer bag than a diaper bag, which makes it more approachable to carry it pretty much anywhere.
- The Baby Swag
MAMAN exclusive wipe-clean substance can handle big bottle spills & small sticky hands. High-quality zippers & powerful straps keep stuff safe & secure.
- Children for Children
Crafted by a designer mother of 5, and made of easy to clean wipe-off material throughout.
- Blueprint
With a matching changing pad, 10 pockets, universal stroller straps and a 100% money back guarantee(!), this bag by Maman is the perfect baby shower present.
- What Baby Needs List
Long and shorthands are very fit for carrying both on shoulder and strollers. The bag is made with strong and sustainable clothes.
- Baby Ambition
The material is also super-easy to clean. So whether you drop some juice on it, your baby throws up on it, or they attack it with dirty hands, you have nothing to worry about – you can wipe it down and it’ll be as good as new.
- 10BabyThings
The Maman diaper bag features 10 pockets. This versatile design can hold all baby essentials and still look perfectly organized and compact.
- Smooth Shopper

What experts didn't like

The quilt-stitching is almost certainly going to be the weak point in the long-term if you let this bag get buried under other stuff in your trunk or closet: wear on the corners of a bag is one thing, but there’s nothing appealing about a running stitch on a quilted design.
- Your Best Digs
The shoulder straps are wider than some of the other bags on our list, but they still get uncomfortable after a while.
- faveable
No insulated pockets included
- Homethods
Not very attractive design.
- Much Needed
This is one of the more expensive products on our list.
- Official Top 5 Review
There are a lot of pockets to the Diaper Bag by Maman, but overall, it may not be roomy enough for the belongings and accessories for more than one child.
- The Baby Swag
Because fashion was a big factor in the overall design, this bag is not quite as spacious as other diaper bags.
- Blueprint
All side pockets are not covered with zippers.
- Baby Ambition
Some customers complained of frayed stitching and a faulty zipper on arrival.

An Overview On Diaper Bags

Every parent of young children will tell you that one of the most important purchases they have made for their kids is the diaper bag. It is with you wherever you go. Whether you’re out for a quick trip to the grocery store or a day-long visit to the zoo, the handy diaper bag is every parent’s trusted companion.

Contrary to its name, the diaper bag holds much more than just diapers. How do you know what to pack in your diaper bag so you’re covered no matter what you need? First, start with the diapering essentials, which include diapers, wipes and diaper rash creams. Many diaper bags come with their own diaper change table. If yours doesn’t, you may need to pack a waterproof mat to use for laying your baby down on while changing.

Having an extra change of clothes for the baby is a must for your diaper bag. Many parents also carry an extra shirt for themselves, as it comes in handy when newborns spit up after feeding. Speaking of feeding, you’ll also need to pack something for your baby to eat, as they need to feed frequently. If you’re breastfeeding, this may just include breast pads for when you leak. If you’re formula feeding, you’ll need bottles, formula and warm water. If your baby is eating solids, don’t forget to pack a lunch or snacks — and some nourishment for yourself, too.

Don’t forget entertainment. A few small toys or books come in handy when you need to distract your little one. If your baby uses a pacifier, packing an extra in the diaper bag is a good idea. Bring along a light blanket or a stuffed animal if they need it to fall asleep.

With all of this to bring on every trip, it’s important to have a diaper bag that has the room to accommodate all of your baby supplies. Look for one that has multiple pockets so you can organize all of the different items you need, so they are easy to find when your little one is in need.

The Diaper Bag Buying Guide

  • One of the most important elements to look for in a diaper bag is the size and the number of pockets. A bag that is large but only has one or two pockets will make it difficult to sort all of the different items you need. Try to find a diaper bag that has many pockets of multiple sizes. This way, you can sort all of the items and have a specific spot for each one. When duty calls, you’ll be able to easily find what you’re looking for. The HaloVa Diaper Bag Backpack has several different pockets for different purposes, such as a tissue dispenser pocket, a bottle pocket and a wet-cloth pocket for soiled clothes or wipes. Similarly, the BabyX Diaper Bag Backpack has a large middle pocket, two side pockets and a separate pocket for bottles. The RUVALINO Diaper Bag Backpack has two big zipper closure compartments and 16 pockets of varying sizes, including one for a laptop. The Bag Nation Diaper Bag Backpack has 14 separate pockets for different uses, including a pocket for bottles and one for baby wipes.
  • For parents of babies who bottle-feed, having insulated pockets is a must in a diaper bag. These pockets ensure that your milk, formula or water stays at just the right temperature for your baby. For toddlers, the insulated pockets can hold sippy cups or food. Look for pockets that have multiple layers of insulation to ensure that it can hold liquid at the right temperature. The HaloVa Diaper Bag Backpack, the BabyX Diaper Bag Backpack, the RUVALINO Diaper Bag Backpack and the Bag Nation Diaper Bag Backpack all have insulated pockets that can accommodate 1-3 bottles.
  • Babies — and their many items — can be messy. It’s common for babies to throw up or have their diaper leak. Plus, milk and food can get everywhere during meal times. Since the diaper bag is with you when you’re out, it’s important to look for a bag that is easy to clean. Opt for one that is made out of waterproof material, to safeguard your bag from any possible messes. The HaloVa Diaper Bag Backpack is made out of a lightweight, sturdy, waterproof oxford fabric. The BabyX Diaper Bag Backpack is made from Resilient Oxford fabric interwoven with polyester and is wear and tear-resistant as well as waterproof. The RUVALINO Diaper Bag Backpack is constructed from lightweight, durable and waterproof fabric, with non-fraying stitching and strong zippers. The Bag Nation Diaper Bag Backpack is made out of high-quality water-resistant twill polyester, which is stronger than cloth.
  • For many parents, style is an important element to consider. After all, if your diaper bag is with you wherever you go, it’s important that it matches your personal style and aesthetic. The HaloVa Diaper Bag Backpack is available in almost two dozen bright colors. On the other hand, the BabyX Diaper Bag Backpack and the Bag Nation Diaper Bag Backpack are both available in black and grey. The RUVALINO Diaper Bag Backpack comes in a handful of solid colors as well as some patterns.
