What experts didn't like
Our testers had problems with this model suctioning to the bottom of the pot, and complained that it spattered a lot. It also didn’t puree smoothies as well as competitors, leaving behind small nut pieces and raspberry seeds.
- New York Times Wirecutter
It is a bit more pricy than regular models.
- All Top 10 Best
A bit heavy due to the solid build.
- A Guide Product
However you’d be hard pressed to fit all the accessories in there at once; it is perhaps better for just the base unit, the blending attachment, and the whisk.
- Daring Kitchen
There are some aspects that I’m quite disappointed in regarding the blender cup. Firstly, it is very prone to scratching although I have been very cautious when holding it.
- Healthy Kitchen 101
Relatively low power output.
- Best Advisor
Blander attachment sometimes pops off.
- Top Best 10 Reviews
Highest speed option isn’t powerful enough.
- My Classy Kitchen
Hard to remove and connect.
- Cookware Junkies
Splashes liquid when the lid is not fully closed.
- ReviewingPlus
It’s quite expensive.
- The Keen Hunter
The food processor attachment struggled to chop ingredients for pesto, and the whisk attachment was so large that cream took longer to whip up. When it came time to try and blend pesto with the blender head, it sent ingredients flying out the sides and struggled to break up the basil.

An Overview On Immersion Hand Blenders

Have you ever wanted to puree a hot or cold concoction and found yourself without a means to do it? That is where an immersion blender comes in handy. They offer a convenient way to puree ingredients without having to transfer them to a stand mixer or big blender. Let’s take a closer look at how they work to help you find the best immersion blender for your needs.

Simplemost Media

Although it is labeled blender it is more like an electric mixer. It is handheld and looks like a wand. On the very end, it has blades that, when activated, blend ingredients together. You will want to start your immersion blender on the lowest setting when initially submerging it into the food, so the ingredients don’t explode all over your kitchen. Increasing the speed will help to mash larger chunks of food. Although they are powerful, they are not intended to use on ice or hard solids. Mostly, immersion blenders are used for soups or other liquids.

Simplemost Media

Why not just use a regular blender for pureed foods? An immersion blender really takes the danger and difficulty out of pureeing soups, sauces and other hot recipes. You really should not be transferring hot foods and liquids into a blender to puree them. It is difficult to do without spilling and splashing and causing a burn. This is when you want an immersion blender handy.

If you hate cleaning up after dinner, you won’t have to dread washing the immersion blender. Most of them come apart into pieces and you can easily clean them once apart. In fact, some manufacturers have started making their individual pieces, dishwasher safe for the utmost convenience.

Simplemost Media

There are several features to consider when buying an immersion blender. With the Mueller Austria Immersion Hand Blender, you will find the nine different speeds are nice to have to keep things from getting messy. The KitchenAid 3-Speed Hand Blender features multiple attachments including the chopper and whisk in addition to the blades so you can do everything with your hand-held. For a sleek appearance and a variety of colors, Cuisinart Smart Stick 2-Speed Hand Blender is the one for you. And for a beautiful red wand, the BELLA Hand Immersion Blender will impress the chef in your life. From function and attachments to style and color, immersion blenders are truly a personalized product that will help make your cooking life a little easier.

DWYM Fun Fact

The immersion blender was patented in 1950 by Roger Perrinjaquet as a “bamix.” This was a portmanteau of “batere et mixe,” which means “beats and mixes” in French. He sold his patent to a manufacturer in 1954 who produced their own version of the blender. It wasn’t until the 1960s that it was put to use in professional kitchens.

Although immersion blenders are thought of for soups and sauces, they work miracles on lumpy gravy, blending pancake batter, homemade mayonnaise and whipped cream.

The Immersion Hand Blender Buying Guide

  • Use a deep container when making food with an immersion blender so the food doesn’t spray all over your space.
  • It is advised to have a plastic guard on the bottom edges of your immersion blender if you want to use it in enamel cookware.
  • The secret to success with an immersion blender is to keep it moving, either in circles or side-to-side, so as not to create a mess.
  • Immersion blenders are meant for small tasks such as pureeing soups and making sauces; not so much for ice smoothies.
  • You can find immersion blenders both corded or cordless for your convenience.
