What reviewers liked

A perfect fit for home offices thanks to its all-in-one capabilities and relatively small footprint.
Otherwise, the sample text pages I printed were more than passable, suggesting that the M281fdw's text output should look good in most types of simple business and home-based-business documents.
However, it can handle the same heavy-duty workload as our best value pick, the Dell Color Cloud Multifunction printer – up to 2,500 pages per month.
Not only does it provide the speed and impeccable text quality of a laser printer, it somehow manages to produce vivid and crisp color graphics as well.
Text printing was very quick, 14.3 pages per minute, costing 2.2 cents per page.
It is extremely easy to use, has tons of built-in features and is seamless blend of convenience, efficiency and versatility.
With the wireless connectivity of this device, you can efficiently use it alongside your mobile phone.
Scanning is just as easy too.

What reviewers didn't like

Scanner software is a bit kludgy, and networking the printer may take some troubleshooting.
Many of the images were too dark, to the extent that bright colors and skin tones were slightly muted and lacked vibrancy.
When we printed images and photos with the MFP M281fdw, we found a few more glaring printing errors than we did with other laser printer models we tested.
With a list price of $430 the M281fdw is the most expensive printer we tested.
Photo print quality is lower than most
It’s powerful, but it may not be the printer for a large office.
We also recommend not using this product for massive printing because of lag issues.
One of BB8 printed out in color just like it was on the monitor, but when I printed off a picture of my daughter, the colors came out dark though the picture was much brighter on my phone and PC.
