Expert Reviews

What reviewers liked

You'll pay up for this option, but you'll be getting a top-quality camera with a wide range of impressive features.
Nest Cam Outdoor comes with crisp HD video resolution, wide-angle glass lens, long extension cord and 3 hours of free cloud storage. It also plays well with other Nest products via the same Android and iPhone app.
-
Easy setup and install. Easy to add more cameras. Pairs well with other Nest products around the home.
Continuous 24/7 live video streaming. Weatherproof design. Clean, easy-to-navigate web portal and mobile apps. Good image and sound quality. Multiple sharing options.

What reviewers didn't like

Some complaints about the night vision being marginal. Price tag is a bit steep.
The alerts are still sporadic -- you won't get one every time activity takes place. If you want Person Alerts and select other advanced features, you will have to pay a monthly fee for the Nest Aware service.
-
Multi-camera monitoring can get pricey with Nest Aware (1st Gen). Video quality is okay when reviewing over the phone, but not amazing (you’d need to download the video to get the best resolutions).
Not worthwhile without pricey Nest Aware subscription. Sharing options split between mobile apps and web portal.
