The Series three sits at that very tempting price point. It promises a lot and for the most part it delivers. This is the best foil electric shave you will experience for the price. The Series 3 fits really nicely into the palm of your hand.
The Braun Series 3 3040 rechargeable electric foil shaver gives faster shaving with great skin comfort. It shaves smooth and comfortable. It has excellent wet and dry shaving performance, quiet, solidly built, long hair trimmer, inexpensive and durable replacements for the cutting block, good battery life, reasonably priced.
The Braun shaver was also designed with an ergonomic grip. This Braun shaver has been built with a quality rechargeable Ni-MH battery. It will take only one hour to fully charge up, which will give you about forty-five minutes of shaving time. Other features include MicroComb technology, Triple action cutting system, and SensoFoil.

Its charged battery life is about half that of more expensive models.
No travel pouch included. The razor does have a tendency to have issues with longer hairs, such as those that occur when you only shave every other day or every two days. (That's quite normal for a foil shaver). Another drawback to the dry shave is the middle blade does heat up, and you can feel it get hot against your skin.
Like most electric shavers, longer hairs are the Series 3’s undoing. Best case it simply misses them. Worst case it gives them a painful tug without cutting them. All testers agreed that the neck was the most problematic, requiring multiple passes to get the job done.
Cons: no long hair trimmer, no pivoting head & you may need several passes to get a really close shave.
The lack of a travel case or cleaning station is disappointing
