What reviewers liked

The Bentgo Fresh has the most versatile layout and most convenient organization of any bento we tried, capable of holding plenty of food for an elementary school student while remaining compact and lightweight.
Divided into 5 compartments for healthy portion control. Removable interior is safe for dishwasher and microwave. Completely leak-proof and drop-proof design.
Containing two kid-friendly latches and drop-proof rubber edges, this bento is able to tightly seal to protect against leaks of any kind.
The outer cover has a latch to fully enclosed the inside food tray. It is made of hard plastic that designed to be sturdy and could take force from 3-7 years old.
It has a drop-proof design with rubber-coated edges, making it suitable for active kids.
The BPA-free plastic bento box has five compartments and can safely be used in the microwave and dishwasher.
The five compartments mean you can pack a variety of foods all together in one package. I also loved that it was leakproof, so the compartments can’t spill over into each other.
This box also comes with kid-friendly latches that are simple even for small hands to close and then open.
Unlike many other bento boxes, the compartments in this box are leak-proof, making it much more convenient to pack any food without worrying about it ruining the other foods in the box.
This is a great little lunch box for younger kids or kids that don’t tend to eat very much. I loved that is was compact, lightweight and completely leakproof. My kids loved the fun designs on the front.
One of the most innovative features of the Bentgo are the internal hinges and rubber coated edges that make it a great choice for younger kids who are more likely to drop, well, everything.
It’s also leak-proof and very durable, with a two-year warranty and rubber-coated edges to protect it if it’s dropped (it survived going to camp with my seven year old this summer!).

What reviewers didn't like

Note that you can’t pack pure liquids, such as soup, in the Bentgo.
Tray insert can get stuck in lid. More expensive than some would like.
Those small amount of thick sauce/wet food is okay, this box is not designed for thin soup or liquid as it may leaked.
Some units have been found to develop mold after a few uses.
It is slightly heavier than other models and the exterior scratches pretty easily.
It lacks a handle, which may make it difficult to carry. Being able to put only parts of it in the dishwasher is not as convenient.
The rubber part can collect mold
This lunch box does not have any built-in temperature control, so you'll need to include an ice pack for food that needs to stay cold.
The plastic tray comes out of the base, but I found it hard to get into the corners of the smaller sections to clean.
