Expert Reviews

What reviewers liked

The ATN offers 1080p video, Wi-Fi, GPS, image stabilization, range finder, and iOS/Android app capability. It also comes with a two-year warranty. When you want a solid scope and the high-tech features in one package, this could be your selection.
It has HD resolution that makes it one of the best for both day and night use and it also has a ballistic calculator, smart, and 5-20x magnification. The scope is also easy to mount and it is compatible with most rifles. But, its most impressive feature is that it makes it possible to record 1080p HD videos and take photos.
The biggest pro of this scope is all of the technology. The computer system that it runs on is extremely high powered, and will stand up to most of the competition. It is easy to use, but more importantly, it is extremely accurate.
Night vision at an incredibly low price point. Ability to set multiple zeros for different distances, loads, or guns. Pre-programmed with 7 reticle styles. Take high-definition photos and videos right through the scope
Of course, apparently I’m not allergic to anything — I don’t even react to poison oak — so was able to proceed and put the X-Sight through its paces. And, I must say, the natural rubber latex eyecup and lens cover feel pretty darn nice. Beats lambskin.
When you make use of the ATN Obsidian app, you can easily connect the X-Sight II to your Android or Apple smartphone or tablet via the device’s inbuilt Wi-Fi network capability and do a bunch of interesting things such as watch live video streaming, open up the Gallery to view your photos and videos and configure the settings of the device.
Night vision alone can exceed the cost of the X-Sight II HD by four times, or more. ATN did an amazing job of making it affordable, yet not cutting corners in contrast or sharpness.

What reviewers didn't like

The eye relief of the scope is a little bit long. It takes some getting used to, but since you’ll likely be shooting this from a bench or a rest of some sort, it’s just a matter of adjusting to it.
No traditional windage and elevation knobs—everything is adjusted electronically. Relatively short battery life. Night vision range slightly limited compared to traditional night vision optics
Annoying no matter what, and if enough adjustment was necessary it sometimes meant the reticle entirely disappeared from the screen at higher zoom levels.
It consumes too much AA battery power.. It is quite heavy.
