Payless Shoes Is Closing 400 Stores And Filing For Bankruptcy

Payless isn’t the only clothing retailer cutting down on physical stores. Major department stores like JCPenney, Macy’s, Sears and Kmart have all announced they are closing stores this year. Other retail chains such as Crocs, BCBG, Abercrombie & Fitch, and Guess have followed suit.

With more and more consumers taking to online shopping, it’s anyone’s guess what the future of Payless will be. For those of us who like to try on shoes in real life, it’ll be tough going.

Here are the 400 stores that will be closing:
