Applebee’s $1 Drink Of The Month For April Is The Strawberry Dollarita

In a sure sign that warm weather is upon us, Applebee’s has just announced that their $1 drink for the month for April is not only bursting with fruit flavor but is also a margarita — which, for me, signifies the end of winter better than a calendar.

Now and until April 30, you can score a Strawberry Dollarita at your local Applebee’s for just $1. Made with tequila, strawberry and margarita mix and served on the rocks, it comes complete with a Twizzlers candy that you can use as a straw.

This is not the first time Applebee’s has given us a delicious strawberry margarita for just $1, as it was also the drink of the month last August. It is the first time it has been served with Twizzlers, however, which is even more perfect for April, as it is Earth Month and Twizzlers is definitely an eco-friendly straw since, you know, you can (and should!) eat it.

While you can order the $1 strawberry margarita all day, if you wait until happy hour (which varies, depending on your location), you can also get half-priced appetizers and have an entire night out without breaking the bank.

If you’d rather stay home, but don’t want to miss out in the margarita fun, try starting with Jimmy Buffett’s margarita recipe and then jazzing it up with strawberries or other fruit, if you wish. The recipe calls for two kinds of tequila, plus triple sec and orange curaçao and, of course, it’s created by the Margaritaville man himself, so you know it’s delicious.

If you like a simpler route, you can also buy margaritas in cans from Bud Light. Lima-A-Ritas come in a ton of different flavors such as mango, cherry, peach and, of course, lime and strawberry.
