RetailMeNot wants to pay you to go on a $5,000 shopping spree

Being able to turn your favorite thing into an actual paying job is a dream come true. Whether it’s writing (me!), being a singer or actress, starting your own business or teaching yoga, the saying “do what you love and you’ll never work a day in your life” is seriously accurate.

If one of your favorite ways to spend your time happens to be shopping, boy do I have some good news for you. RetailMeNot — which maintains a collection of coupon websites — is looking for a “Shopping Specialist” and will literally pay you to shop and dine out!

The job itself sounds pretty simple — and downright amazing. You’d be given gift cards for major retailers and restaurants, with a $5,000 budget over the course of one week. You’d then use these gift cards to shop from a mix of at least five online and in-store retailers per day, selected by RetailMeNot. Shopping Specialists must purchase at least one item from each retailer.

You’d also be testing RetailMeNot’s app and website while shopping and would need to note the effectiveness of their coupons, promo codes, cashback offers and instant cashback gift cards.

One meal per day, up to $50, would be comped as you tested out RetailMeNot’s casual dining offers. And yes, you’d get to keep everything you bought!

RetailMeNot says you’ll know you’re right for the job if you find it hard to resist sales, dream of shopping at the mall all day and are on a first-name basis with your UPS and FedEx drivers.

Of course, there are also some other requirements you have to meet. First, you must have a minimum of two years of shopping experience both in-store and online — which shouldn’t be too hard! You also have to be good at finding deals, have navigation skills both online and at stores and be good at saving money with coupons, cashback offers and promo codes.

You also have to be at least 18 years old and have a valid driver’s license and the ability to get to your favorite stores.

To apply, just visit RetailMeNot’s website and follow the instructions, which includes sending in a short video about your shopping habits, how you look for deals and why you’re the best candidate for the job. You must submit your application before Aug. 9.
