What experts liked

Affordable. Viable Option For Beginners. Great Looking.
This full-sized dreadnought makes for a great 1st guitar, gift, or a travel guitar. The FD01S has a solid spruce top, which is borderline unbelievable at this price point.
Great sound. Comfortable. Solid top for this price range is quite nice.
Fast Nato neck that helps in smooth sliding and bending. A sharp spruce pinnacle with awesome grain size
Provides smooth tones. It has increased durability. The guitar is very easy to pluck
The Yamaha acoustic FD01S is an excellent starter guitar. It is a full-sized dreadnought guitar and has a solid spruce top. I find the all wood tops to sound better in general.
The Yamaha FD01S Solid Top Acoustic Guitar is on the lighter end of the guitar spectrum, weighing in at 6.2 pounds. This makes it easier for those of all ages to play, alongside its dreadnought design.
the FD01S has a solid Engelmann spruce top (solid top acoustic guitar), Rosewood fretboard, Rosewood bridge, and Nato sides and back.

What experts didn't like

Not Suitable For On-Stage Performances.
As with all inexpensive guitars, you will need to get a pro setup to get optimal sound out of the FD01S. If you want to get even better tone, swap the plastic nut and saddle to bone. You will have a guitar that sounds 3x its cost.
Needs tuning quite a bit. Might need to replace bridge pins.
Nato laminate reduces the bass. Might need to replace bridge pins
It is very fragile. Come in only one size.
This guitar does not come with a hardshell case and you will want to get a gig bag for it to protect it.
