The gloves are puncture resistant and the claws are made with durable ABS plastic to protect your fingers and hands.
The claws are effective for surface weeding. The claws are a great replacement for a hoe or hand-rake for scratching the dirt around plantings to dislodge small weeds.
These amazing gardening gloves have 4 built-in sharp ABS plastic claws on each hand making digging and planting possible with just your hands.
The breathable design of garden genie gloves also features nylon knitting on the back of the hand. It keeps your hands cool and dry in winter as well as summer.
They are fully waterproof and are flexible to fit any hand. They are made of a natural latex and are puncture resistant to keep your hands safe.
It certainly would keep the dirt out of your fingernails which is a positive thing.

I see the claws are only on the right hand. Which means if you're left-handed, your right hand might not be strong enough to do the work.

What reviewers didn't like

It’s hard to actually dig with the claws. Unless you’ve been developing your finger strength via rock climbing or marathon guitar sessions, you can’t get much leverage with the tips of your fingers.
Not much comfortable for long-time use
However, we found that it works better on softer ground rather than harder ground.
- KFYRTV
If you're going to do a job where you're mulching. A bed with an established plant. This would work well. You can put the amount in and feather it out.
