Expert Reviews

What reviewers liked

The 2018 Vizio P-Series F1 offers everything you need to enjoy a high-end TV experience today. The TV uses full-array local dimming, which produces superior contrast ratios for SD and HD content but also provides the best HDR experience on an LCD TV.
If you're looking for the best picture you can afford, and you can't afford an OLED TV, Vizio's P-Series deserves a spot on your list.
The picture quality of the Vizio P Series 2018 is very good. It has a good contrast ratio enhanced by effective local dimming. This produces deep blacks in dark scenes which in combination with the rich colors and the high brightness is great for HDR.
Along with stunning 4K UHD and HDR performance, the new P-Series offers a solid collection of features new and old, not least of which is the return of the TV tuner,
I was most impressed by the inky blacks. The P Series can’t compare to the blacks you’ll see on LG’s surreal OLED TVs, but it’s damn close at times, and that’s impressive.

The P-Series is a great choice if you're after a TV that performs at an above-average level with great pricing.

What reviewers didn't like

Vizio chose to go with the clawfoot stand design in which the two feet are spaced far apart, so the P-Series F1 needs a table or stand that is as wide as it is—we prefer TVs with a center stand.
The main question is whether the (non-Quantum) P-Series reviewed here is worth the extra money -- currently a couple hundred bucks -- over Vizio's own M series or TCL's 6 series. My answer is no, it's not.
The Vizio P Series 2018 has a mediocre sound. This TV has an above-average loudness but doesn't produce much bass, and it may also lack some detail and presence on dialogs.
We’re still slightly disappointed with Smartcast, but it gets the job done, and the return of the TV tuner is a win for everyone.
Vizio’s onboard "Smartcast" app interface is less ideal, like most TV-maker made interfaces. It has many of the big apps, and they’re all sluggish.
- Wired
It has a number of top-shelf features with good black levels, but has its share of problems, too, like some audio reproduction issues and a slower operating platform. I
