From The Manufacturer

The UDI U818A HD has the Headless/IOC function. Usually, the forward direction of a flying multi-rotor is the same as the nose direction. By using Headless/IOC, the forward direction has nothing to do with nose direction. This lessens the steepness of the learning curve and allows the pilot to enjoy flight while slowly learning each specific orientation of the quadcopter.

Expert Reviews

What reviewers liked

It's high capacity battery and multi-channel function seperate this copter from the rest. You get a lot of features for the price.
The controller and quadcopter communicate over a 2.4-GHz radio signal. That is the same frequency band as Wi-Fi networks, but we had no issues with interference from Wi-Fi networks. I experienced good range, as far as 30 to 40 feet away.
Both the propellers and prop guards are very flexible, meaning the drone will bend rather than break in most crashes.
It comes with two 500mAh LiPo batteries and a dual USB charging connector with indicator lights that tell you when they’re fully charged.
- IGN
Its entire body and prop guards are made from very thin plastic which help save a lot of weight and allows the drone to absorb impact very well.
The drone, on the whole, has a rigid and compact design that is also very lightweight. This gives the device the required strength. The presence of spare propellers in the kit allows you to take a few risks and embark on a few adventurous flights.
The UDI 818A Quadcopter is perfect for beginners because it is easy to control and has great stability. Taking videos in-flight is easy with a frame rate of 30 frames per second.
The UDI U818A has a functional camera, controls are excellent, and worth the price

What reviewers didn't like

Does'nt fly well in windy conditions
Still images are captured at 1280 x 960 pixel resolution. These images look OK in bright light, with decent colors. They lack detail, though, especially if taken while the quadcopter is moving. There is no stabilization technology, so the camera picks up the shakes and pictures often blur if the copter is moving. You also have to be careful when recording video to make sure the battery has some capacity: I lost a couple of videos when the quadcopter battery ran out while recording, and the video in progress wasn't saved.
But they still look grainy on anything larger than a smartphone screen. You also don't get a real-time video feed, so you're essentially shooting video blind.
One unwelcome quirk or glitch I experienced with the 818A is at times it would list wildly immediately upon taking off, even though I took pains to calibrate the gyro on a flat surface. Although tabs on the controller let you adjust trim, performing trim adjustment in mid-air while the drone is drifting away is something the Russian judge would agree presents a high degree of difficulty.
- IGN
The only thing I believe the U818A cannot resist is excessive exposure to moisture.
The camera resolution isn’t the best
The trim of the UDI 818A HD + RC Quadcopter is slightly difficult to adjust. Some reports express displeasure that the camera position is not adjustable and takes photos from only one angle. More serious concerns include the failure of at least one motor shortly after beginning use and the frailty of the design and materials, making the device susceptible to easy damage.
It cannot capture high-quality photographs and videos. Battery life is less than 6 minutes at times.
