From The Manufacturer

Tripp Lite’s 10-outlet Protect It! surge suppressor (model TLP1008TEL) provides economical AC surge suppression for workstations, PCs, telecom systems, home electronics, and other sensitive equipment. The TLP1008TEL offers 10 outlets, an eight-foot cord with a space-saving right-angle plug, and diagnostic LEDs confirm suppressor “protection present” (green) and “grounded” (red) status. The unit has a surge-suppression rating of 2395 joules to shield equipment from line noise and even the strongest surges. One input and two output RJ-11 analog phone jacks prevent surges from damaging your modem/fax/phone equipment. Two rows of outlets include five widely spaced inputs for bulky “wall wart” transformers, which won’t cover the remaining outlets. Built-in sliding outlet safety covers keep dust and fingers out of unused inputs. Keyhole mounting tabs permit wall mounting, and the strip exceeds IEEE 587 category A&B specifications. The suppressor is covered by $150,000 Ultimate Lifetime Insurance (USA & Canada only) with a data-recovery warranty

What reviewers liked

If you want a surge protector for your home theater or office, the Tripp Lite 12-Outlet Surge Protector (TLP1208TELTV) is your best choice. It has a critical auto-shutoff feature, more than enough outlets to keep all your gadgets powered, plus coaxial and telephone connectors. It offers great protection against household surges that come from other equipment in your home or fluctuations from the power company. It has a generous 8-foot cord and feels sturdy and robust.
The best and least-expensive 10-outlet option for a surge protector that cuts off power when its internal protection has failed across any of the electrical paths that provide power. If you want to ensure that no surges reach any of your equipment and that you have a relatively maximum (or “clamping”) voltage that can pass, this model meets all the specifications.
If you’re looking for a truly fail-safe surge protector (short of a full-fledged uninterruptible power supply), The Wirecutter found Tripp Lite’s TLP1008TEL surge protector actually shuts off power to your devices when its surge protection abilities wear out (as opposed to simply warning you). Beyond that feature, you’ll get an ample 10 outlets, four of which are spread out a bit to accommodate larger AC adapters.
Tripp’s contribution is a “home and office” surge protector suitable for all sorts of different electronic setups. It has handy LED diagnostic lights to warn of outlet status and a built-in splitter that can turn one RJ11 jack into two for a modem, fax (hey, some people still use them), or telephone/DSL line. Four of the outlets are spaced widely apart to fit more awkward adapter plugs, a feature we particularly liked.
An affordable AC surge protector. It comes in handy when protecting your working station, computers and other home electronics. It has 10 outlets and comes with a 96-Inch cord. These allow you make bulky connections. A right angled plug also saves your space. LED indicators are provided to signal surge damage. With an exceptional suppression rating of 2395 joules, this surge protector shields all your equipment with strongest power surges. It also provides noise protection with regards to radio and electromagnetic waves. A special built-in RJ11 protects your modems and phones against surges.

What reviewers didn't like

The power button, which has a protective bulge around it. It’s not well placed. Includes unnecessary phone passthrough protection. Power button bulges out of top.
There’s no choice for cord length here — you are stuck with the average 8-foot cord.
