I like the Away mode, which will randomly turn the Smart Wi-Fi Plug on and off during the hours you set. If you use this with a lamp, it can deter burglars by making them think you’re at home.
You can remote control the smart plug even when you are not at home, from your smartphone
You can benefit from Away Mode which turns on/off connected lights and makes it look like someone is home. This function will deter burglars and protect your possessions. Great! Additionally, if you want always to have an opportunity to get warm quickly, select an appropriate fan heater!
This simple device allows you to turn dumb items in your home into semi-smart ones that can be controlled remotely without a central hub.

In regular mode, for instance, you can turn lights on and off on demand. Its schedule function and Away Mode; on the other hand, enables you to program light function to induce the effect you are intending to achieve.
Relatively affordable for a smart plug.
I found Kasa Smart Plug very useful to be honest. It gives me peace of mind when I’m unsure if an electronic appliance is running or not. I can simply check via Kasa App.
This is one of the most inexpensive smart plugs.
Along with the Kasa app for iOS and Android, the plugs can be turned on remotely using scenes or virtual power “switches” or set to a schedule to make your life oh-so-much easier.
The smart plug is a pretty simple device. It plugs into any standard outlet and then you plug whichever device you want to control into the smart plug.

What reviewers didn't like

Drops in connectivity and occassional failures syncing with voice control have been reported.
This smart plug doesn't offer energy monitoring reports.
A bit bulky design to place behind furniture.
We were not that impressed with the overall design of the TP-Link Smart Wi-Fi Plug. The front face is a dull white oval with a gray area around the plug. The problem arises in how bulky the device is.
Buying several can quickly get expensive and more complex functions require the $150 hub.
While the Smart Plugs are fairly small, in a two-outlet situation, you will not be able to use any other oversized plugs in the second wall outlet. Also, since the device plugs into the front of the outlet, it will stick out from the wall more than a regular plug.
Relatively basic core features, no energy monitoring feature.
Doesn’t provide energy monitoring.
The devices can seem a little bulky compared to the mini plugs.
One of the gripe with the TP-Link smart plugs is its fairly weak ability to pick up Wi-Fi signals.
No consumption info.
No energy monitoring reports.
The only issue I can see is if you plug in in on the bottom outlet it will block access to the upper plug.
