Expert Reviews

What reviewers liked

An attractive model with a vivid backlit screen that can be easily seen from a distance. Registers temperatures quickly; has 2 probes. Owners love its built-in timer. 3-year warranty with registration.
The readings of both probe 1 and 2 are shown onto the display. They are both fully functional even though only one channel is displayed at a time.
With the STEP-DOWN probe tip design and backlit LCD display, receiving and reading an accurate temperature is simple even in the darkest of conditions. Either place on your counter with the flip out stand or magnetize to a metal surface, be it a BBQ or oven.
It comes with a one-year warranty, features lighting in the background so you can use it at night, and you can both time and check temperatures – just not at the same time.
Customization – the ability to be able to select a custom temperature or use presets already built into the thermometer.

What reviewers didn't like

Discrepancies about its accuracy – some owners rave about it while others find it can be unreliable. Units that "died" or malfunctioned after several uses have been reported, but customer service is attentive.
As with most thermometers of the same brands, sometimes the two probes readings are not perfect
The unit is not waterproof
Not waterproof. Awkward to use.
The backlight – only comes on when you push a button and stays on only momentarily. It would be nice if it could be set to stay on (in case a person was cooking outdoors at night).
