Expert Reviews

What reviewers liked

The top of the mattress boasts raised sides, which gave us the feeling of being securely cocooned. Even if the bed deflates a little bit, you won’t worry about rolling off the bed. The mattress is made of eco-friendly PVC, which the brand says is puncture-resistant and durable. It certainly held up during our week of testing, and other reviewers have testified in favor of its long-term durability as well, with some citing three or even four years before holes appeared or the pump motor slowed down.
Unlike many other air mattresses that I’ve seen, this one won’t require getting up and out of bed to feel like a strain, due to its raised double height.
It was among the most comfortable air mattresses we tried (it didn’t deflate noticeably in the night, and so provided better back support), and you can control the level of inflation. The SoundAsleep’s built-in pump was quieter than any other mattress motor we tried—which is a perk if you don’t want to wake sleeping children (or if you’re sensitive to noise).
Extremely popular among buyers-very comfortable and reliable. Its durability and puncture resistance set it aprt from other models. Grip surface on bottom prevents sliding. 1-click internal pump makes it quick and easy to inflate. Comfortably fits 2 people.
Supportive and comfortable - Comfort Coil. We found that the claims about it being extra think and puncture resistant are true and that any defects in that area are a flaw of small % of products. This will be true for any air mattress, no matter how well made.
- 3 Beds
Made of rigid plastic that's still easy enough to fold up and stuff into the included nylon drawstring sack that serves as a carry bag, which is great for camping. It's worth the money. Inflates fully, well-constructed, strong customer reviews.

This product has a built-in air pump, and I love how easy it is to get the bed into functional form in just minutes. Just plug the cord into any 110 volt outlet and turn the dial to “inflate”. Because Sound Asleep is 19 inches thick, it’s really easy to climb into. I enjoyed being able to adjust the firmness through adding or removing air.
The mattress features ComfortCoil Technology. It has 40 in-built air coils that provide it with additional support and durability to keep your bed flat and firm. In addition to that, it boasts of the patented1-click internal pump system. This makes it easy to inflate and deflate. It gives the mattress the desired firmness in under 3 minutes.
When you want to make sure your guests are as comfortable as possible while sleeping over, SoundAsleep makes for a great choice. The reviews are some of the best that you will find in this market. Buyers have plenty to say positively about this product, praising everything from the comfortable sleep it offers to the attractive looks.

What reviewers didn't like

Can feel a bit too firm. Cord for the built-in pump is short. Repair kit is subpar. The top of the mattress is extra thick and waterproof, with a velvety feel that provides cushioning and helps keep the fitted sheet from sliding around. The material can get a bit moist overnight, however.
The only thing I feel it worth mentioning is that one should be mindful due to its poor edge support. That can be a risk with any mattress but it’s almost a given with an air mattress.
Slowest product to inflate and deflate.
No color choices. Only Twin & Queen size. On-arrival defects.
- 3 Beds
More expensive than most of the other models we tested in its height range. It's also one of the more pungent beds I tested, and people who are sensitive to off-gassing may want to choose an alternative.
-
The built-in pump feature could be a downside for you, though, if you need something primarily for outdoor use as close proximity to an outlet is required.
The thick flocking makes the mattress slightly weighty compared to the others.
There aren't any ‘bells and whistles’ with this mattress.
