What experts liked
Project Cars has dazzling graphics, beautifully-modelled cars, convincing weather and a great tyre-wear and damage simulation, it still feels slightly rough around the edges.
- Trusted Reviews
On the plus side, hosts have an incredible level of control over rooms. The 16-player lobbies can be divided into four classes if you so choose — and that’s any classes, not just pre-determined splits. You can force manual pit stops, the level of aids drivers can lean on, and the precise times for all sessions of the event.
- GT Planet
Open-ended career mode lets you play what you want, when you want.
- GameSpot
Once you get the controls where you want them, your car exactly how you like it, and your race day tactics tightened up, it delivers an exhilarating ride, but few will have the patience – or, indeed, the willpower – to reach that point, and thus it's hard to imagine this outing achieving the mainstream success of other competing motoring series.

What experts didn't like
Bugs and glitches continue to appear.
- Trusted Reviews
On-track action is inconsistent. Players entering the room causes a massive lag spike (or three), ruining any flow you might’ve had on your hot qualifying lap.
- GT Planet
A handful of very bad glitches and inconsistent AI mar the single player
- GameSpot
More problematic is that the title's susceptible to framerate dips and tearing on regular occasions.
