It comes with a unique design lid that allows you to control the steam for different food needs and also splatter free heating with high performance. You will find that the steamer comes with a handle that stays cool during steaming where you can easily hold and remove the steamer from the microwave thus protecting you from any burns.
The BPA- and phthalate-free container is easy to use and safe to handle. The locking tabs on the side do not get hot and make it easy to lift the container out of the microwave. The stem in the inside steamer basket also stays cool for safe removal.
The lid locks in place so little to no steam escapes. I noticed immediately my veggies are brighter colors and just prettier than my other two steamers.

About 5 percent of buyers did have negative experiences with the Sistema mostly due to lid issues, where they had difficulties closing the latch.
Besides the tabs and center stem, the rest of the plastic gets very hot, so handle with care. Doesn’t taste quite as good as food steamed via other methods.
Be careful, a small amount of hot steam will escape below these handles, although not enough to burn me.
