What experts liked
Most users appreciate how soft, durable and thick these wipes are. They also stands out for having a good moisture level and cleaning sensitive skin without over drying.
- BestReviews
The baby wipes are individual so they come out 1 at a time when you pull. The flip-top packaging is very convenient. Organic baby wipes.

They are thick and strong making wiping easy and with little need for many wipes.

We loved these wipes because they are free & clear: they’re fragrance free and contain no alcohol, parabens or phenoxyethanol, making them some of the cleanest, safest wipes on the market.
- Heavy
They’re fragrance-free, but they also don’t have any unknown scent because of the absence of parabens and other chemicals.

You can trust these to handle any messy situation, no matter how big it is as the Seventh Generation Baby Wipes are thick, very thick but at the same time, these wipes are very soft and gentle on the skin.

In our stretch test, the material hardly budged when we pulled on them firmly. They were also easy to pull from the package while holding a squirming kid. And like our other top picks, these wipes feature a patterned texture — in this case, adorable little ducks — that helps them clean more effectively.
- Reviews.com
Our moms noticed that these wipes had a pleasant odor, a nice texture, and they felt good about using something with ingredients derived from natural sources.
- Mommy Hood 101
Ingredients are almost all plant-derived and the wipes themselves are made from 70% plant-derived cellulose.

Their wipes are free of dyes, fragrances, parabens, alcohol, and phthalates, so you can rest assured you are using something that is designed for delicate areas. The wipes are also strong because they are composed of wood pulp, which makes each wipe strong, and sustainable.
- Maternity Glow
Seventh Generation Free are extra thick and tremendously durable, so you can make them last by using less at a time.
- Wiki EZ Vid

True to their brand principle, this product is made from plant elements. The brand has moved from plastic to plant essences. In effect, the product has become safer to baby's skin since it has more natural ingredients.

What experts didn't like
A few felt the cost was too high; occasional users commented on them being stiff or linty.
- BestReviews
They are on a more expensive side. Sometime leave lint behind.
- Net Parents
January 30, 2019 | Full review
They do get very wet towards the end of the package.
- Toodrie
June 4, 2019 | Full review
Some consumers say these wipes tend to pill and leave behind little particles. Some complaints that lids on resealable wipes packages do not stay closed.
- Heavy
After using them on your baby, you might notice lint left behind from the wipe itself. For some, the wipes might not be wet enough or able to retain their moisture for as long.
- The Baby Swag
May 17, 2019 | Full review
You have to pay for these wipes, not as if the money is too much but when compared to the price of other baby wipes, you would agree that it is expensive.
- The Changing Tables
May 31, 2019 | Full review
Unfortunately, these wipes fell a little behind our other top picks in terms of their cleaning ability. The cute duck-themed texture did clean better than the non-textured wipes, but not nearly as well as the distinctive dot texture of both Parasol and The Honest Company wipes.
- Reviews.com
They are not as thick as many of the other options, and one of our moms said that some poop was able to get through during a dirty clean-up, so they had to use more wipes than they wanted to.
- Mommy Hood 101
They’re not the softest or most friendly wipes we tested.
- Your Best Digs
March 30, 2019 | Full review
A little on the dry side.
- Wiki EZ Vid

An issue we found with the product is that it is not only thin it is also dry. Some parents found that the wipes are too dry to their liking. This will mean that several wipes need to be used in order clean everything up. But, other parents find that their wetness is just the right amount.

An Overview On Baby Wipes

As a new mom, one of the toughest things to know is the quality of wipes before you buy them. The worst is when you are pinching pennies and grab a generic brand of wipes that just don’t work well or worse, leave a chemical burn on your baby. You can find tried and true reviews from fellow moms to help you decide which wipes work best and are safest for baby.

There are several different types of baby wipes. Baby product companies have had to change their ingredients in the last couple of decades because of new research regarding potentially harmful chemicals. Since the research surfaced, companies have been striving to make nearly all-water wipes with very little other ingredients. That is why you will find many varying types. You’ll find sensitive wipes, fragrance-free wipes, scented wipes and free and clear wipes. Some brands offer several different kinds to choose from so if you find a brand you like, you can give each type a try.

A few things you’ll want to look for in a wipe include thickness, textures and scent. In addition, price is a huge factor for most parents since diapers and wipes can really push a budget. You’ll find a wide range of prices when you shop baby wipes. But don’t be lured into the lowest price wipe, as they are often extremely thin with potent fragrances and not so great for baby’s skin. Taking those things into consideration, here are a few excellent choices recommended by parents:

Thickness is a must-have so you don’t find yourself in the middle of a diaper change, needing to frantically wash your hands. The Huggies Natural Care Baby Wipes offer excellent thickness and will keep your hands clean from any diaper messes. They are also hypoallergenic for sensitive skin. Often you can find these wipes in varying sizes at different price points, so your budget doesn’t have to suffer for a quality wipe.

For a sensitive, fragrance-free option, fellow parents choose Pampers Sensitive Water-Based Baby Wipes. These wipes are soft but thinner than their competitor, Huggies Natural Care. They tend to be moister than most wipes as well.

Sometimes you’ll need baby wipes for more than just diaper changes, and in those cases, you’ll want something that is extremely mild, especially for faces and hands. The Pampers Aqua Pure Sensitive Baby Wipes are just the thing to keep in your travel bag. These wipes are super gentle and soft with no added fragrances.

When the budget trumps all, parents turn to Amazon Elements Baby Wipes for a trusted clean. These wipes are durable and textured for tackling the messiest of diaper duties. Unscented and gentle cleansing wipes, packaged in six flip-top packs, make diaper time convenient and affordable.

As time goes by, you’ll learn which baby wipe works best for you and your baby. These suggestions are rigorously reviewed and tested for allergens and chemicals to avoid any rashes or burns on baby while still cleaning baby thoroughly. Find your favorite and be sure to stay stocked. Baby wipes are one thing you do NOT want to run out of!

DYWM Fun Fact

  • Baby wipes were marketed and sold by multiple companies beginning in the ’90s.
  • Kimberly-Clark and Procter & Gamble were the first producers of baby wipes in the 1970s.
  • The Wet-Nap (little packaged wipes you get at restaurants occasionally) was introduced in the 1950s, but had such a high alcohol content that they couldn’t be used on babies.

The Baby Wipes Buying Guide

  • When deciding what baby wipes to use, search the internet for free sample sites. There are quite a few websites that will send you free trial size packs of wipes to promote their products.
  • Once you’ve put your finger on the wipe you like, you can always find coupons to help keep your costs down. The company’s website is a great place to look for coupons for their products.
Kristin Forte/Simplemost Media
  • Buying in bulk will help save some money in the long run.
  • Subscribing to products you like on Amazon can help lower the cost of your baby wipes order as well.
  • You will want to buy a wipe that has very little or no phenoxyethanol, sodium benzoate and Cocamidopropyl betaine if your baby has sensitive skin. These are types of preservatives and fragrances that cause skin irritations.
