While baby strollers have an important spot on any new parent’s must-have list, pull-along wagons can be quite useful as well, even though they are more geared toward recreational fun.

Pull wagons are great for kids, who love being pulled around with their snacks, toys, drinks and buddies. Some are designed more for younger kids and come complete with safety belts and little storage compartments. Others may be appropriate for slightly older children. Be sure to check measurements and weight limits before buying, and follow all safety instructions.

• If you want to save your back, look for wagons with longer handles. That way, you won’t have to bend down as much to pull it.
• Kids don’t have to be just the passengers in pull-along wagons. They love pulling them, too. Just be sure that a parent or caregiver is watching to keep them safe.
• Pull-along wagons are also great to take to farmers’ markets, outdoor events and for gardening. You can load them up with gardening supplies, sports equipment, groceries and other items. Some of these wagons are collapsible, making them easier to load into the car.
