Expert Reviews

What reviewers liked

If you’re looking for a sphygmomanometer that is budget-friendly, then The Santamedical Aneroid Sphygmomanometer is the one recommended. It has consistent reading and won’t embarrass you in front of your patients. The cuff is designed to be resistant to abrasion, chemical, and moisture while its inflation bulb is made with crack resistant and nonstick material.
Has an aluminum alloy manometer that is precision-crafted and has a high level of accuracy. The device has a 2-tube PVC bladder with a big air release valve that helps in efficient airflow.
I like the black carrying case because it can be used as a storage and as a case to carry the aneroid sphygmomanometer on the go.
It is highly durable, accurate and reliable device which medical professionals highly recommend.
Despite its low price, the sphygmomanometer is made from high-quality materials. The Velcro closure of the cuff resists frequent use, while the inflation bag and bulb are made from flexible, latex-free synthetic rubber. A precise gauge with clip and large digits on the dial also ensure accurate readings. With an attained accuracy of +-3 mmHg, this is an excellent choice for both home and professional use.
The cuff lists a range of 25.4-40.6 cm. It is a standard adult size. Comes with the tubing, bulb and the gauge. I would say that it would work great for a medical student.
This incredibly popular sphygmomanometer features a precision-crafted aluminum manometer that exceeds medical industry accuracy standards to provide the most accurate and reliable readings possible. In addition to increasing its accuracy, the sphygmomanometer’s aluminum construction also enhances its durability, allowing you to enjoy its error-free use for years to come.

What reviewers didn't like

It would take a couple of pumps first before the gauge starts to move.
Issues with valve.
The main disadvantage of this model is the ringed cuff. It’s designed for easier one-hand adjustment for self-blood pressure measuring, but the truth is that this design makes it really hard to place on the arm. Needless to say, that’s extremely inconvenient, especially if you’re a nurse working in a fast-paced environment.
You will need a stethoscope in order to hear the heartbeat.
Velcro tends to loosen over time.
