Pure Protein Bars taste is excellent, they taste like candy bars, at least chocolate flavors. Due to the content of sugar alcohol, they are more chewy bars, than they are crunchy ones. Depending on the size of consumed bar and size and physical activity of the user, these bars will make one satiated for 1-3 hours, maybe even more.

The biggest benefit they offer over Quest bars is the price. They usually cost a little bit more than half the price of Quest bars. They also have less sodium than the other bars on the list.

This protein bar has only 5 grams of sugar and many reviewers have said that this protein bar should leave you feeling full.
- Pure Path
These bars pack some serious flavor and high quality textures. The chocolate salted caramel and chewy chocolate chip flavors are fantastic. Since it's a more established line of products, these bars are significantly cheaper than the other bars on this list. Likewise, they offer a delicious alternative to the person whose GI tract can't handle all of the fiber from a Quest-like bar.

What experts didn't like

Not all their flavors are created equal though. Some do have a little sugar in the ingredients list and some have soy protein crisps (whey is still the major protein source though.) They also have a very long ingredient list and don’t have a lot of fiber.

While the United States does not have any specific regulations for meal replacement bars, there are a few things you’ll want to look for when shopping for one. The first is calories. Check to see that the bar has between 200 and 400 calories, as this is where you’re going to get your energy. Next, review the meal replacement bar’s protein content. The higher the protein, the fuller you’ll feel for a longer period of time. The MET-Rx Big 100 Colossal Protein Bars are known for their higher protein content at 30 grams per bar.

The nutrition label will also specify how many vitamins and minerals are in the meal replacement bar. Some ingredients to look for that are excellent sources of fiber include chia and flax seeds.

Finally, when shopping for the best meal replacement bar, it is essential that you check the sugar content. This is true whether you suffer from diabetes or not. Too much sugar will provide a temporary burst of energy. But afterward, you’ll suffer a sugar crash that will inevitably leave you feeling tired and moody.
