Expert Reviews

What reviewers liked

The basket of the strainer has been made of silicone instead of stainless steel so it would not scratch or damage your sink
Renovated out kitchne & for the 1st time we have a stainless steel sink. The strainers that came ith it either locked down to hold water or sat at an angle . I got one of these to try and it is awesome. It fits as if it is made for the sink and the silione collector "pops" any food pieces into the garbage easily. Ordered the second one online.
The great thing about the silicone design is that it will not scratch metal sinks. The design looks just as smart as stainless steel with the added bonus that it will not rust. The tall center post makes removing the sink strainer very easy.
The OXO Good Grips Silicone Sink Strainer can easily stop debris from going down the drain. You do not have to worry about the rust stains because the material used is rust-resistant.
It can be very easily cleaned by flipping it inside out to empty the basket, and it can be washed in the dishwasher when just emptying it is not enough.
The silicone basket is easy to clean and is useful in trapping food scraps thus preventing clogs and protecting your pipes at the same time.
Unlike other strainers made of materials that can rust, this product from OXO is made of silicone that won’t scratch the surface of your sink. It is lightweight and extremely flexible, making it easy to clean by simply inverting it. It is resistant to stains and will collect debris and food scraps easily, keeping the drain clean no matter what you’re cooking or washing. The strainer is also dishwasher-safe.
The silicone material is resistant to corrosion and staining. It will also not inflict damages to your sink because the silicone material is soft and won’t chafe the stainless steel material of your sink.
The strainer is made of smooth stainless steel with flexible stain resistant silicone. It will serve you years after years without any issue.
The basket has a built-in post at the center that allows you to pull it and invert the basket to empty waste. This feature makes the OXO Good Grips Silicone Sink Strainer easy to clean and maintain.

What reviewers didn't like

Some users might find the center post to be a nuisance
The center post is rather high.
There are only a few possible downsides that I can see. One is the possibility of struggling with the center post to invert the basket.
It has the tendency to catch food particles at the edges area.
Some people said that the design of this item is rather flimsy. Thus, you should handle it carefully, unless you want the debris to spread all over the sink.
Some said the holes are too big to catch smaller particles like ground coffee.
The center post built in the strainer basket may cause some inconvenience to some people.
