The Oster 6-Cup rice cooker is a sufficient rice steamer that is an upgrade from cooking rice in a pot, but it doesn’t offer the same functionality as higher-end rice cookers.
This cooker is nice and compact, comes with a steamer bowl, and won’t break the bank. The rice doesn’t compare to our winner, but I wouldn't turn up my nose at it either.

With a tempered glass lid that can stand up to high temperatures, this rice cooker lets you see your food as it cooks. Its basic design is suitable for college students and anyone with less cooking experience.
The controls are simple and straightforward, with one click of the switch to start it cooking. The digital display shows when the appliance is cooking, or warming, and can be unplugged to switch off completely.
It is able to cook rice quite fast and almost perfectly, offering a total capacity of 6 cooked cups.

What reviewers didn't like

The Oster 6-Cup has the same limitations as other pot-style rice cookers.
This cooker is nice and compact, comes with a steamer bowl, and won’t break the bank. The rice doesn’t compare to our winner, but I wouldn't turn up my nose at it either.
May get somehow messy when you cook rice to full capacity.
It can take a long time for the cooker to cool down after you shut it off. You may find some rice stuck or burnt to the bottom of the pot too.
Considering the size, it is advisable only for couples.
