What experts liked

The 12-inch wide cleaning brush means dirt doesn’t stand a chance in its path. And the vacuum itself only weighs eight pounds, making it easy to maneuver for everyone.
For a carpet-heavy home, the Oreck is a winner. It has massive cleaning power no matter how big or small the mess. That power comes with the sound to back it up: It roars at well past 85 decibels, the loudest of any vacuum we tested.
This one is so lightweight, and the very long cord it has, makes it easy to move back and forth and you do not even have to stop and unplug and plug back in while vacuuming different places. With the strong suction, all the gravel, dirt, and stickers that get tracked into the mud room will be brushed away with this vacuum. More surprisingly, the assembly took a whole 5 minutes to get the vacuum into working order. It was easy to maneuver, and light to lift.
The weight of the Oreck is probably its strongest feature. Motoring around the living room with this 8 lb feather of a vacuum will be fun and almost feel like a beachy vacation. Okay, it won’t. But your arm probably won’t get tired very fast, and moving the vac between levels of the home won’t be a huge undertaking.
Looking at the design, this tool does one thing and one thing along – deep clean carpet. Everything about this upright vacuum from the beater bar to the lightweight design leans toward optimal carpet cleaning. This vacuum has an impressive direct suction power which can handle not only dust, but also debris from your carpet or floor. Most customers are happy about the fact that it also has the power to remove cat/dog hair too, and pretty well, I might add. This is possible thanks to its 12 inch wide brushroll, which plays a huge part in making this vacuum effective. You can enjoy balanced unit which is accompanied with double helix brushes.
An important feature of this vacuum cleaner is that even though it is built to provide quality professional cleaning, it weighs only about 8 pounds. So it is very easy to take it from one place to another.
Oreck Commercial xl2100rhs comes with a direct power suction which can handle not just the dust accumulated in carpets but also larger debris from the carpet or the bare floors. Additionally, the cleaner can remove tiny pet hairs which might be on the carpets or floors. The 12-inch brush roll is wide and forms an essential component of the vacuum cleaner which boosts its effectiveness and efficiency as it rotates at 6500 rpm enabling easy suction of dust into the dust inlet suction.
Its ability to automatically move from carpet to hardwood to vinyl makes it ideal for large homes with multiple flooring types.

What experts didn't like

The one thing you will be giving up with this model is a wand attachment for vacuuming upholstery, curtains, and hard to reach places. So you might have to end up supplementing it with a handheld vacuum as well.
The Oreck did a terrible job at collecting rice on the shallow carpet, taking over six passes and still leaving a ton of residual debris behind. This model tended to suck in the rice, crush it up, then leave it on the carpet, rather than actually collecting it. This model did even worse on the fluffy carpet, taking over 10 passes to do a barely passable job
On hardwoods, the Oreck cleaned well enough, sucking everything in its path in two passes, and many longtime users say they use it with good results. But neither of the Oreck models we tested has a bare-floor option, which means its brushroll is always rolling; over time, that wear and tear can be damaging to your floors and finishes.
The only thing that disappoints users is that Oreck only covers these units for 1 year even if used only for residential instead of commercial service. And after a year you can face up with cases that needs to change many facilities as well as devices from the vacuum, which may cost a lot of money.
This may not be the vacuum for applications involving carpeted stairs. Though it’s lightweight, its general design doesn’t allow for great mobility in the stair vacuuming arena and may make for some awkward positioning and balancing to get the job done.
One important thing to note here is this does not have any brush roll on/off so using this on hardwood isn’t advisable because of the speed it rotates – 6,500 rpm. This is best used on carpet only.
It makes a lot of sounds. While on high carpets, it becomes hard to maneuver. The inner disposable bags have to be bought again and again. No swivel steering
When dealing with bare surfaces, this vacuum is not the best of vacuum cleaners to use because its brush roll cannot be turned off hence reading to the vacuum cleaner scratching surfaces more so when handling hardwood.
However, its lack of attachments could be a problem for those hoping to use their vacuum cleaner to get into tight spaces.
