What experts liked
An affordable brush that's simple, lightweight with an easy to hold, slender handle.
- BestReviews
The Pro 1000 has comfortable-feeling oscillating bristles, a simple one-button interface, and a battery that lasted 11½ days with twice-daily use in our tests.
- New York Times Wirecutter
Brush heads can be switched relatively quickly. The charging cradle works as it should and doesn’t take up too much space next to the sink.
- Extensively Reviewed
The Oral-B Pro 1000 is incredibly simple to operate. A single power button is located on the front face of the handle.Pressing the button turns your electric toothbrush on or off. That’s it. It’s that simple.

Its two-minute timer has a stutter pulse at 30-second intervals to remind you to keep moving, and it has a built-in brushing pressure sensor.

It uses a 3D Oscillating action with the same 16 degree angled bristles as the DiamondClean, there is also a regular and a quadrant timer.

As an oscillating model, the Oral-B Pro 1000 provides around 8,800 rotations and 20,000 pulsations per minute, meaning those with sensitive teeth won’t feel quite as much “teeth tickling.” During testing, we noticed that the Oral-B’s vibration felt powerful, but not overly ticklish like the Sonicare.
- Reviews.com
If you’re ticklish, the Oral-B – Pro 1000 is a great brush that doesn’t use sonic vibration.
- Your Best Digs

I have to say the toothbrush looks and feels great. It’s attractive and easy to handle, and the charging station isn’t bulky and doesn’t take up a lot of space.
- Much Needed
It’s a reliable, no-nonsense machine that gets the job done with minimal fuss and frills.

The design is slim and lightweight, it feels good in the hand and well placed grips make it easy to hold.
- Electric Teeth

The head of this electric toothbrush slides simply onto its shaft, and you have to just pull it for removing it. Thus, you can swap over the head within two to three seconds.
- 10 Awesome Gears

Pressure Sensor. I like this a lot. It stops the pulsing movement if you brush too hard, so you never have to worry about punishing your teeth.
- Best Electric Toothbrush Club
April 21, 2017 | Full review
Protects your teeth as the pressure sensor stops the toothbrush from pulsating if you are brushing too hard.
- The Toothsayer
October 1, 2018 | Full review
This toothbrush is enabled with the quad pacer feature which ensures that the user invests equal time in every section of the mouth and not just on one. Thus, the quad pacer vibrates after every 30 seconds to indicate the user that they should switch to the other section of the mouth.
- Oral Care Home
What experts didn't like
Cleans via oscillation, not rhythmic vibration (sonic) which dentists say clean teeth better.
- BestReviews
One of the other major flaw of the Pro 1000 is that its head is a departure from the usual rotating/pulsating motion of most powered Oral-B brushes. The head it comes with has two moving parts: one that moves up and down vertically and a longer set of bristles at the top that flop back and forth. Compared with other toothbrushes, the motion was a little violent.
- New York Times Wirecutter
There is no in-between indicator to let you know that the battery is starting to run low, which is something I would have liked to have seen.
- Moo Review
September 18, 2018 | Full review
The Oral-B has a shorter battery life.
- Tech Gear Lab
Short battery life, many customers have mentioned that they had to change the batteries within a small amount of time.
- Dental Dorks
March 5, 2017 | Full review
Its handle grip is less comfortable than comparable models, and we don’t love how it sounds.
- Top Ten Reviews
May 23, 2018 | Full review
There’s just one standard head and one mode, Simple Clean.
- Groom and Style
March 13, 2019 | Full review
Only has one mode which may not work for those with sensitive teeth and gums.
- The Consumer Guide
April 6, 2019 | Full review
Oscillating models are great for those who find sonic toothbrushes too ticklish, but they’re not totally free from causing discomfort. While it doesn’t tickle the teeth, the Oral-B Pro 1000 can be more irritating for gums.
- Reviews.com
Only one power setting.
- Much Needed
It would be nice if the battery lasted a little longer than the 7 days and it would be better if there was more feedback from the brush on how much power remains in the battery. Get a red flashing light when low, but nothing more really.
- Electric Teeth
February 8, 2019 | Full review

- 10 Awesome Gears

It’s 23 ½ cm tall, so it might not stand up inside smaller bathroom cabinets.

From The Manufacturer

The Oral-B PRO 1000 rechargeable electric toothbrush provides a clinically proven superior clean vs. a regular manual toothbrush. The professionally inspired design of the CrossAction brush head surrounds each tooth with bristles angled at 16 degrees, and 3D cleaning action oscillates, rotates, and pulsates to break up and remove up to 300% more plaque along the gumline vs. a regular manual toothbrush. The pressure sensor stops the pulsation movement if you brush too hard and there is 1 mode, plus an in-handle timer to help you brush for a dentist-recommended 2 minutes. Best of all, it’s brought to you by Oral-B – the #1 brand used by dentists worldwide*. Compatible with the following replacement toothbrush heads: CrossAction, 3D White, Sensitive Clean, Precision Clean, FlossAction, TriZone, Deep Sweep, ProWhite, Ortho, PowerTip, and Dual Clean. *Based on surveys of a representative worldwide sample of dentists carried out for P&G regularly.
