Expert Reviews

What reviewers liked

Provides 24g protein per serving, plus 100% of your RDA of vitamin C and a good amount of B12. Contains a complete amino acid profile, which helps with mucsle recovery. Easy to mix and tends to come out lump-free.
I loved the extra vitamins and minerals. Sure, they may have been added to the mix, at least in the case of Vitamin C and B12, but B12 and iron in particular can sometimes be a little tricky to get on whole foods alone without animal products, so it’s always a nice bonus when they’re included in vegan protein powders. It’s also remarkably low in carbohydrates for a vegan protein, and there’s a not-terrible 2 grams of fiber per serving that further lowers the net carbs, if that’s something you’re tracking. The ingredients are organic, gluten-free, soy-free, and non-GMO, there are no artificial flavors, and there’s nothing on the tub to indicate that it was made anywhere near animal products, something that’s pretty hard to find in protein powders.
The price score gives you an indication of how cheap a protein powder is compared to the rest.
This is very affordable and contains RDA of vitamin C.
This product’s all-natural ingredients can help you build muscle and achieve your long-term fitness goals. The impressive ingredients speak volumes. Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard 100% Plant has a solid 24 grams of protein per serving. Customers also say it tastes great and has great solubility. Some plant-based protein supplements are grainy, but not this one. We give a huge thumbs up to its attributes. You won’t be sorry.
Although the plant-based Orgain Organic Protein Powder is also vegan-friendly, Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard Vegan Protein Powder might give the product a run for its money in the “best vegan powder” category. This USDA organic protein powder is made completely of plant proteins including pea, brown rice, and sacha inchi as well as grains such as millet and quinoa.
This healthy protein blend is loaded with amino acids and omega-3 and 6 fatty acids. The plant protein blend helps with heart disease, diabetes, skin allergies, and liver function. This powder has 24 grams of protein. It is also loaded with 100% of your daily recommended Vitamin C and a healthy dose of Vitamin B12. We tried the vanilla and chocolate flavors for this review and were impressed with both. The vanilla had a mild taste while the chocolate had a certain richness to it. Both flavors exceeded our expectations. Some plant-based proteins taste earthy, but Optimum Nutrition nailed the taste.

What reviewers didn't like

Not thick enough for some users.
Gums may cause digestive issues for some people. Only available in one size. Pretty nutty flavor
If you’re looking for a protein powder that has the highest protein content possible, this is pretty disappointing.
May cause stomach discomfort for people sensitive to xanthan, Arabic, and guar gums.
The only glaring downside is the price tag: one 680-gram container (19 servings) of Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard 100% Plant costs $35.99.
