Expert Reviews
What reviewers liked
This canister vacuum has several floor surface options for more specific cleaning styles.
The Super Air Clean Filter outputs air cleaner than the air it takes in, with the option to add a HEPA filter for even more filtering. This keeps the dust and dirt in the bag and out of the air you breathe. Great for allergy sufferers. A rotary dial adjusts the suction power with 6 power settings to meet your needs, and even has a quiet setting.
The canister features a simple rotary dial that lets you change the variable-speed motor with ease. It also comes with two different floor brushes that effectively clean hard surfaces and low-pile carpet, both of which lock into place on the telescopic wand. In addition, you get three handy attachments to help you clean hard-to-reach places like crevices between couch cushions and staircase edges.
The Miele Classic C1 Limited Edition vacuum has a sleek, lightweight design, recommended to clean all hard flooring and low pile carpeting. It comes with tools especially equipped for best performance on rugs, combination floors, parquet, and hard floor brushes. This vacuum will provide a powerful clean with its 1,200W Miele-Made Vortex Motor, created to increase power efficiency.
It featured the same brush combination we enjoyed in the Compact C2 Onyx. In fact, the Classic C1 Capri looked and behaved like a simplified version of the Onyx.
Speaking of performance, the Classic C1’s easy adjustability makes it a perfect fit for cleaning both hard floor as well as low-pile carpets which is great. Thanks to the foot switch you can switch from hard floor cleaning to low-pile carpet mode easily. In fact, since the unit comes with a motor protection filter and an AirClean exhaust filter, you can expect the filtration performance on this unit to be pretty impressive.
What reviewers didn't like
This Miele canister vacuum bag can be difficult to empty at times.
We liked the Onyx, and we like the Capri. However, after having experienced the electric power brush head, we found it hard to go back to the turbo brush, even though it was still several levels better than the Classic C1 Olympus’ combination brush head.
The first downside with the Miele Classic C1 is the fact that it doesn’t come with a warranty. Plus it’s on a limited edition meaning it won’t be available for long. You also have to be careful of the resistance it offers when switching from carpet mode to the hard floor mode.
