From The Manufacturer

Memory foam's ability to reduce pressure points is one of the reasons so many people are using it to get the best night's sleep. Now you can enjoy the benefits of memory foam without having to buy a new mattress by adding this memory foam mattress topper to your existing spring, latex or even memory foam mattress. This topper will add comfort and increase the quality of sleep from your mattress immediately. Three inches of four pound density memory foam used in this topper is specifically designed to enhance the feel of your current mattress and also provides additional support in areas where your mattress may be dipping or sagging. The foam is also specially formulated to contour to your body at any temperature and will give you the extra comfort you need to get the best night's sleep possible from your current mattress. Our toppers have also earned the PURGreen certification, which means they are manufactured, fabricated and packaged in the U.S.A. meeting all EPA and CSPC standards being safe and free from harmful chemicals. PURGreen uses independent laboratory results to qualify products and ensure they are manufactured without the use of ozone-depleting substances such as Chlorofluorocarbons, Polybrominated Biphenyl Ether substances, Harmful Metals, Formaldehyde, Prohibited Phthalates or any other unsafe materials. PURGreen also implements baseline requirements such as conserving water, energy and other natural resources in the manufacturing processes established through internationally accepted ISO standards and procedures. There may be a new foam smell associated with your new topper; however, this odor is not toxic or harmful passing all PURGreen, EPA and CSPC standards. MADE IN THE USA. Your memory foam mattress topper has been compressed and vacuum sealed for shipping purposes. Please carefully unpack the memory foam from the sealed packaging and lay completely flat allowing your topper to fully decompress for up to 96 hours at 72 degrees in cold weather. In warm weather the topper will expand rapidly; however, it will need time to “cool” down to an ambient room temperature of 72 degrees. Your memory foam topper is temperature sensitive and this is why it needs to reach an ambient temperature of approximately 72 degrees. U.S. made foam does not contain any toxic ingredients like formaldehyde or PBDE, polybrominateddiphenylether, but it can have new foam smell that lasts for a couple of days to a couple of weeks, based on the time of year the foam is produced. The foam smell does not necessarily trigger allergies; however, it can be bothersome to some people who have a sensitivity to smell. If the smell bothers you, try airing out the room and washing the sheets after a few nights of sleep on the new mattress.

What experts liked

The topper is 3-inches thick, and it’s incredibly supportive thanks to the 4-pounds memory foam density which is going to conform to your body quite well. This is going to alleviate and reduce the stress on essential pressure points such as your lower back, hips, and shoulders.

It offers support and reduces pressure points that cause you to toss and turn while you are sleeping, resulting in a better night’s rest. Yes, this probably sounds like something you have heard before, but the one thing that really makes it stand out is that it’s eco-friendly.
- The Sleep Judge
It consists of 3 inches of Visco elastic memory foam, which feels springy and conforms to your body, but also cradles it in a firm, supportive way — you aren’t going to sink into this mattress topper.

Meets or exceeds PURGreen certification standards

Reduces pressure points: It is said to be one of the highlights of this topper—its tendency to smooth out physical pain in your back or other areas of the body. And it comes true. Falling into the bed after a day of physical strain can help relieve pain. No more tossing and turning around to find the right spot.

This topper is also soft enough for your body to sink in comfortably, but supportive enough to make sure you don’t sink in too deep. It’s also cooler than a lot of other mattress toppers.
- Sleep Titan
It is made in the USA, and PURGreen certified, meaning that it has been manufactured free from ozone-depleting substances or unsafe materials.
- Inside Bedroom
A good mattress topper like this one reduces pressure point pain and stops the restless tossing and turning so many suffer through night after night. Your body will be supported fully with the contouring memory foam that surrounds your body with comfort as you sleep.

What experts didn't like

You could feel slightly trapped

There isn’t any indication of an open cell type technology, which to me meant that it wasn’t going to breathe well.
- The Sleep Judge
It retains heat, which is fine if you live in a colder climate or aren’t a sweaty sleeper, but may not be the most comfortable choice if you prefer to sleep cool.

Great for back sleepers; not always as ideal for side sleepers
- BestReviews
Not too thick:If you are too muscular or heavy, weighing well over 160lbs, you may want a thicker 4 inch topper. This one may wear out quickly and deflate under your weight.
- Overnight Mattress Topper

I did notice that it has a strong chemical smell though, but the odor went away after airing it out for a day or two.
- Sleep Titan
Several negative reviews referred to a chemical smell, though this should dissipate after a day or two, although the company states that this is a new foam smell that is not harmful.
- Inside Bedroom
It may have a smell when you fist open the package but there is no danger or harm from this smell and it will go away in 24-48 hours.

An Overview On Mattress Toppers

A mattress pad protects your mattress, but it doesn’t really make it more comfortable. For that job, you need a mattress topper, a relatively thin layer of material that rests atop your mattress to make it softer. But a mattress topper does more than simply offer a thin layer of cushioning. With the right one, you’ll also get a cooling effect that is far better than the unventilated toppers of previous generations.

If cooling is important to you, make sure you look for a topper that’s designed to keep you cool. Some use ventilation for that, but others use technology like cooling gel to provide even more assurance that you won’t wake up in the middle of the night in a pool of sweat. Often, it’s just simply the design of the topper itself that keeps sleepers cool.

Of course, overall, you’ll be looking for a topper that makes your mattress comfortable for sleeping. You’ll find with most mattress toppers, memory foam is the name of the game, but memory foam isn’t without its issues. Modern products are constructed to resolve the common problems that come with using the material.

Mattress toppers require chemicals during the manufacturing process and, unfortunately, this can lead to unpleasant odors when you bring them home. You won’t get away from that issue completely, but some toppers do cut down on this more than others. For best results, air your topper out for a few hours, preferably outside, before putting it on your bed and covering it with a fitted sheet. You can also set a bowl of vinegar in your bedroom for a few days to absorb the smell.

Lastly, there’s the price. It’s important to note that you can find very affordable mattress toppers on the market, but many of them have all the issues that higher-end toppers work to address. You’ll pay a little more for a comfortable, cooling sleeping experience, as well as avoiding the odor problem that comes with less expensive versions.

The Mattress Topper Buying Guide

  • Comfort starts with keeping you cool, especially if you tend to sweat while you sleep. With the EASELAND Queen Pillow Top Mattress Topper, you get the power of cooling gel to keep overheating at a minimum. With this mattress, the memory foam is infused with a cooling gel that prevents heat from being trapped in the layers. Other toppers use a breathable fabric for improved airflow.
  • Each mattress topper has its own unique way of making you more comfortable while you sleep. Some models have a 2-inch thick down-alternative layer attached to the cover, topped by a 2-inch thick layer of gel-infused memory foam. Others use memory foam to conform to your body. There are even toppers that have an open-cell technology to help prevent those body impressions that can make memory foam less comfortable.
  • You’ll always have at least a trace of odor when you unwrap a new mattress topper, mostly due to the chemicals injected into them. This problem is easily remedied by allowing the topper to air out for a short time.
  • Although you can find cheaper mattress toppers, you won’t get nearly the quality that you’ll find with a more expensive mattress topper. Either way, you’re sure to find a mattress topper that fits within your family’s budget.
