Overall Take

The formula is entirely organic and has no artificial sweeteners or sugars. In addition, the naturally occurring folate is much more desirable than the folic acid found in other prenatal vitamins. Adding to its pluses: It's vigorously tested for pesticide residues, ensuring it meets high-quality standards. We especially liked that these came in a glass bottle.

In our analysis of 59 expert reviews, the MegaFood Baby & Me Doctor Formulated Prenatal Vitamin, 60-Count placed 11th when we looked at the top 13 products in the category. For the full ranking, see below.

Expert Reviews

What experts liked

This brand has an independent seal of approval by NSF International, a third party that verifies supplements meet high quality and safety standards. Baby & Me is loaded with nutrients in forms that are easy for your body to actually use.
A great organic formula with no sugars to support preconception stage, healthy pregnancy & fetal growth.
Contains naturally occurring folate instead of folic acid. Tested for pesticide residues.
MegaFood Baby & Me can be taken at any time of day, even on an empty stomach, without minimal chance of nausea.
They’ve included a “Nurturing Prenatal Blend” into this tablet, which is made up of organic fruits, roots and vegetables specifically designed to make pregnancy a bit easier. For example, ginger is included to attempt to ease nausea.
-
A prenatal vitamin that’s not only focused on the medical aspect of things, but helps women cope with moods and nausea. That’s a winner in our books.
The biggest draw when it comes to this product is that it uses real foods like brown rice and broccoli to give you your recommended daily dose of vitamin E and folate, which help support lactation.
You can take them both while you are pregnant and after, while you are lactating and breastfeeding. This ensures continuity in your vitamin and mineral levels in your body which means that you will not feel any changes at all.
It is safe, gentle on the stomach and above all is that it is natural. It is also easy on your stomach and absorbed quickly and the flavor is awesome.
These allow you to be able to continue using your prenatal vitamins after giving birth so no tablet would be wasted. This is also more cost effective since you won’t have to buy two different vitamins for each stage.
They’re strong in iodine, iron and zinc, three important minerals in pregnancy.
You can take them on an empty stomach, because they are all natural, they won’t make you nauseous at all. Once you get past the flavor, you will notice they are a breeze to take and they work great.

What experts didn't like

Moms-to-be need 27 to 30 mg of iron a day, but Baby & Me only contains 18 mg. Also, this supplement only provides 6% of your recommended daily calcium.
4 tablets a day is kind of hard for some to take.
Pills are very large and need to be taken 4 times a day. Contains herbal ingredients (like raspberry leaf and chamomile) which you may want to avoid.
Supposed to take four tablets a day.
Many tablets to drink each day. Strong taste.
Requires you to take 4 tablets per day and tablets are quite large. Needs additional DHA supplement.
It is lower in vitamin A. It’s also low in calcium and magnesium—try supplementing with organic, grass-fed dairy and magnesium.
The one thing that you will notice first hand is that they taste horrible, so take them with a full glass of water.
