An Overview On PC Keyboard Vacuums
Keyboard vacuum cleaners remove dust and dirt from keyboards and have nozzles that can get into narrow spaces that you can’t clean with regular vacuum tools, dusters or wipes. Although people also use canned air for this purpose, keyboard vacuum cleaners are more effective and better for the environment. Look for those that have reusable filters that you can take out, rinse with water and put back in.
These mini vacuums usually weigh a pound at most, but even the smallest ones can be powerful enough to remove hair, food crumbs, accumulated dust and other debris. They run on batteries and are charged through USB. Look for those that have different suctioning modes and speed settings if you want to be able to use them for other things that aren’t your keyboard (such as piano keys). A HEPA filter is another great feature; you’ll also want to find out how long the vacuum will run on a charge and how long it takes to charge.
It’s good to have a PC keyboard vacuum with different attachments, like a flat one to get into crevices and a brush to wipe off accumulated dirt from the keys. You’ll also want a blower mode since tiny particles often get deep into computer keyboards. If you see a “kPA” measurement number, this stands for kilopascals, a unit of pressure. The higher the kPA, the more suction. These devices also work well for sucking up food debris in between car seats and many other cleaning chores. They’re extremely versatile!
The PC Keyboard Vacuum Buying Guide
- Regularly using a mini vacuum can help extend the lifespan of your computer keyboard.
- See how much the vacuum weighs before buying; if it’s closer to a pound, it might feel too heavy when used for extended time periods.
- Don’t expect to be able to use these vacuums for more than 20 to 30 minutes since the batteries run out and need to be recharged.
- The batteries can take up to four hours to recharge.
