Expert Reviews

What reviewers liked

Does move the air around really well.
It’s lightweight and easy to move from place to place and the 5 plastic blades give you a lot of cooling while being quiet. You can also tilt the fan to direct the air where you want it to go.
This fan features a remote control (on/off and 3 speed settings) and allows you to program the fan to run for a set period of time (1, 2, and 4 hours). The fan also oscillates but that needs to be turned on/off manually.
This pedestal fan gives you the very definition of “plug and play” when it comes to the cooling comfort that you need. It requires no tools to assemble or clean, making it very easy to maintain.
You will get the best of directional airflow wherever you want it to go. You can quickly tilt the head to a particular area or direction within your room, office & more, and get the air coverage that you have been craving.
The pedestal’s tilt where it connects to the fan is also a nice convenience that you just don’t see in a whole lot of fans on the market. This way, you can simply give the fan a flick of your wrist to change where it blows air, as opposed to messing around with the pedestal until you get the right air flow you want. As another convenient bonus, it also requires no assembly on your end, even when you order it online.

It doesn’t require any mounting but just placing on a flat surface such as floor or desk.
The simple multi-function remote comes in handy plus the three timer settings is very convenient and efficient. The safety feature of this fan is paramount as it has patented fused plug which means electric current cuts off when there is anomaly on the fan’s electronic parts, so there is less worry even when the fan is operating all day.
It’s also equipped with a programmable timer, which allows you to set the time (1 hour, 2 hours and 4 hours) for the fan to operate.
Having a programmable timer provides more convenience to its users.
It doesn’t have any complicated tools, so assembly and cleaning are made easy, and the best thing about this fan is that it can be programmed to come on and go off at whatever time you want it to.
We also find that the Lasko Cyclone has a very modern, high-tech look. It’s pretty sturdy, well built, and quite heavy in contrast with other similar price fans.
- Mozaw
One of the best things about this fan is its tilt-back feature, which means that you can direct the air exactly where you’d like, while the fan will ensure that the produced oscillation will effectively cool your room.
It has widespread oscillation. It offers optimal comfort.
- Ah Joo
Best of this entire unit is lightweight and doesn’t require any tools for assembly.
- Popkh
It comes with a programmable timer, with settings for 1, 2, and 4 hours. This is great if you’re using it just before bed. The multi-function remote adds convenience to the overall package as well.
This outdoor pedestal fan highlights for its easy use and assembly; simply put it together without the need of any tools. While it’s not very decorative, it’s well-made and presents a very potent airflow for both big rooms and intermediate outdoor spaces.
Versatile Operation. With three speeds to choose from and a programmable timer, this fan offers some of the best versatility on the market today.
It is easy to assemble and reliable. At 18 inches wide, it is large and powerful enough to keep air moving in medium to large sized rooms, even at the fan’s medium and low settings.

What reviewers didn't like

The remote control is useful, but it does not have a very long range.
While it is powerful, it isn’t as quiet as our other top picks. And most of the fan is made out of plastic (hence the price).
Remote has no tilt control.
The remote control doesn’t work correctly.
It produces a little noise that can cause inconvenience to its users.
Some customers complain that it is a bit noisy.
Because of the wide base, it will take a bit more space than usual.
- Mozaw
Considerably noisy, not ideal for bedrooms.
Most of the parts on the 1843 are made of plastic which can make the fan seem a little top heavy when adjusted to the maximum height. This is because Lasko wanted to keep this fan as lightweight as possible.
The Lasko 1843 isn’t perfectly quiet.
