What reviewers didn't like

Some customers have issues with the mattress being "springy" or "bouncy". Some consider the mattress too soft for an infant, but this is based on personal perceptions. There are some reports that the springs can be felt through the mattress materials. There are claims that the waterproof covering gives off an odor in new mattresses.
When I put some pressure on it, I could feel the wires inside, which I think could get uncomfortable for a larger toddler, if it lasted that long. This mattress also sunk in much more than the others when we put the 6-pound hand weight on it. Though the vinyl cover felt durable, I could pull out some of the seams with a good tug.
